Oral immunotherapy

My baby (8mo) was diagnosed with peanut allergy at 6mo and allergist offered to start oral immunotherapy around 12 months. I’ve come across a lot of contradicting information about it and feel kind of lost. I know it’s a newer treatment and it sounds like the recommended starting age varies greatly based on the allergist (I’ve seen from 6mo to 3years). I want to give my baby the best possible outcome and starting younger sounds the most promising.
- what does a general OIT plan look like? I know it’s a gradually increasing daily dose but am curious about specific examples. How often are labs/ doctor visits needed?
- is this typically covered by health insurance (USA)?
- I gather there is not yet enough data to know the long-term efficacy. It sounds like this may be something you need to continue indefinitely for it to be effective?

I’d also love to hear of any general resources for newbies to the peanut allergy community. I feel kind of overwhelmed.
Thanks so much

Limiting my scrolling

Baby is getting older and is very interested in my phone. I definitely scroll more than I’d like and am cutting back.
What do you do instead of looking at your phone while nursing/ when they are playing on their own? I try to be mindful and soak up the moment but that only lasts so long. Hard to read a book/ do much of anything when they’re on my lap or focused on something for only a couple minutes at a time. Of course I’m often trying to be productive but I’m most curious about “down time”.

Moving timeline

Which would suck less?
Move cross-country while pregnant with a 1ish year old, potentially starting a new job/ likely not qualifying for FMLA

The above with a toddler and newborn

Both are going to be hard. My spouse and I know we want to move to be closer to family, so it’s a when not if.
