Buying in South burbs

Can someone tell me why it’s so cheap?

I grew up in the NW burbs where I have maybe one or two options in my price range. Bordering counties don’t even have much at affordable prices. Then I look at the south burbs and Redfin is flooded with decently priced options. Is it worth considering?

Please be real with me. This isn’t our forever home, just a starter home so being able to sell in the next 5 years or so is important too.

ProctorU and laptop

I’m currently doing school on my MacBook. It’s older but I haven’t had any issues using it for WGU until today. I went to take an exam and I was unable to download the testing software. I can longer update my computer for it to be compatible with the testing software.

I spoke with IT and they tried to help and find a loophole but no success.

I’m not in a place financially to buy a new laptop.

I don’t know what to do

Small stones. Help!

I get tonsil stones maybe twice a year. It’s usually a 1-2 week period where i dislodge a very very small one with my tongue each morning. Sometimes I feel like I’m getting sick, like today, sometimes not.

I always have the feeling that something is stuck in my throat. I can’t always clear that feeling. I shine a flashlight in my mouth and I can’t even see any inflammation or stones.

What can I do to prevent this from getting worse. I already gargle saltwater and use mouth wash.

Helping partners sperm health

My partner is a picky eater. He has reduced his alcohol and increased hydration already. I’ll make him smoothies. What can I add into the smoothies or other foods that would aid in sperm health?

My smoothies are usually bananas, mango, strawberries or peaches and milk. If I have it, I’ll add protein powder, frozen spinach. Just wondering what else I can sneak in! This man loves a bland diet and loves his fast/easy food.

What is my best option to get to Solider Field from Arlington Heights?

I'm going to Soldier Field for a concert this weekend.
The original plan was to take the Metra in, spend a few hours walking around the city and getting dinner beforehand.
My concerns:
-the Metra schedule coming back is limited
-I understand Saturday traffic will be bad, is parking at the stadium as awful as people say? I heard Waldron Deck is the best place to park.
-my boyfriend and I both work the next morning so I'm concerned that we will both be over it and wishing we could drive home instead of waiting on Metra.
-someone else on Reddit said it took them an hour to walk to their bus stop be of how police were directing foot traffic and barricading streets/paths
HELP!

PLOA

I’m currently on a PLOA. Am I able to go back to work early? DLS says no bc it has to be a minimum of 15 days but I could’ve sworn other AAs have taken shorter personal leaves?

Tell me your baby shower experience? What do you regret? What were you happy you did?

If you don’t have a baby shower, are you glad you did? Did you still make a registry?

My partner and I are in a place where we would be paying for our own baby shower. We’d be renting out a venue and it’s looking like it’d cost us a a few thousand. I feel like I’m gonna end up regretting it.

I’m currently pregnant with my first. I’m due in December. Our lease ends in April 2027 and plan (hopefully) to buy a house before the lease ends.

My partner and I currently live in a 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment. We live on the 3rd floor, no elevator. Laundry is in the basement.

I guess I’m just looking for advice on how to make our life more convenient as my pregnancy progresses and once we have a new born. I already feel overwhelmed and we don’t have a lot of people that are nearby, able bodied or willing to come over and help.

How do you or did you manage?

I’m working at a new building. Doing 4 10hr shifts. It seems like break times aren’t consistent with what I’m used to.

How long is your shift and how many breaks do you get? How long are the breaks?
