Looking for grocery/retail stores in Yamhill/Polk/Marion that might have these

Planning my weekend shopping and can't seem to find these anywhere but convenience stores and my own small town grocer where everything's WAY more expensive 😭

Prefer Savia but Parrot is good too

Thank you!

Looking for any local grocery stores that might sell these drinks

Can only find them in convenience stores and our local rural market - where everything is WAY more expensive 😭

Where can we discuss the more PG-13/R stuff that canonically occurs in Battletech?

'Cause I've got a question about Elementals and certain Clan customs I'd really like to get some answers on . . .

Trashy American attempt to make samosas

Was very tired this evening so all I did was boil some chicken broth, mix in some instant mash and spices, and add vindaloo before wrapping them in tortillas and toasting them.

Yes, the one on the left is a samosa burrito. Going to nibble on that tonight and save those other abominations for work.

In the future I'll try adding mashed chick peas and lentils, but Mondays always seem to suck too hard to put in that kind of effort.

This little murder monkey fascinates and frustrates me so

There's just something off about every single configuration of the Howler from the get-go, with like maybe the exception of the ER PPC and training model. Simply taking it's primary configuration, what do we got?

A dirt cheap, second-line garrison 'mech designed exclusively for long range fire support. Three LRM-5s. 3 tons of ammo. 3 tons of armor. 119 kp/h on a Standard engine.

I'm sorry . . . WHAT?

Wouldn't it make a little more sense to maybe, I dunno, save a half ton or so and some pod space with an LRM-15 and 2 tons of ammo?

"Well obviously it's a fire support 'mech, so the extra launchers and ammo are necessary for its operations."

Yeah, operations typically on the defensive with direct access to whatever logistics support it's meant to be defending. Until well past its appearance, even in the Inner Sphere, indirect fire units were not that popular with frontline toumans. And the Clans are so clinical with their tactical and strategic planning no proper battlefield they set foot on the offensive would experience supply shortages. This guy really doesn't need 24 reloads for three separate launchers. 16 for one, but we could bring those numbers back up to 24 with another ton of LRM-15 ammo if we do this:

Without even pulling out a light or XL engine, we could cut another half ton+ off our little monkey 'mech by lowering its speed to the 90s without significantly raising the insanely cheap price tag or docking much space.

"Well it's only twenty tons with only three tons of armor, the 119 kph ensures it can get out of any situation."

It's a support unit. Second-line. Minimum engagement distance. Garrison duty. Access to whatever logistics the Clans got on-world.

By the time it should realistically find itself in a situation it needs to get out of . . . Yeah, them Clanners would be screwed beyond badly. And let's face it, it's not like in the 3050s there's very many IS 'mechs that could survive punching through a Clan's lines to successfully chase down anything clocking in the 90s. At least, something that doesn't just dig its heels in and go Seyla to the bitter end.

So. It's 3051-2. These little murder monkeys are starting to pop up in the Sphere. What do we got instead of that wacky Howler Prime?

A dedicated 20-ton missile boat without the nonsense of scouting and skirmishing. Unless you want to slap the electronics on to actually make it useful in these roles. Because hey, you got the weight and space for it now! Along with the same number of tubes, options like CASE, more armor, maybe more ammo to shut the 3xLRM-5 lovers up? All this on a chassis that's still ridiculously cheap, that can easily keep pace with the larger units it's meant to support, while maintaining respectable speeds by IS standards of its day.

I'm only focusing on the Prime model and its impact on the 3050s, but there are ways the Clans could have progressed with the design far better than they actually did. Especially with keeping the Howler cheaper than most individual heavy weapons systems.

On paper these guys just don't make sense to me, so I'm trying to fix them.

Peace of Blake be with you all

I've heard it brought up enough since these came in the mail, thought I'd make this little PSA.

Hope y'all are enjoying your Monday evening, have a good week!
