When will stores like Walmart start selling PC gift cards for MW4?

When will stores like Walmart start selling PC gift cards for MW4?

I'm a PC player, but I personally like collecting physical items, so I'd like to buy the game through a physical gift card.

Does anyone know when real-world stores like Walmart usually start selling PC gift cards for Modern Warfare 4? Would they only become available after the official release, or could they appear earlier during the pre-order period?

Information About the Hunter Killer Operator

The Hunter Killer Operator is (as far as I know) the first anonymous MIL-SIM operator in Black Ops 7, rather than a specific named character. This operator is depicted as belonging to a fictional Korean military unit, and the Hangul text "암영대" (Amyeongdae) is written on the uniform.

There isn't actually a Korean noun or military term called "Amyeongdae," so its exact meaning is unclear. My guess is that it's meant to be the nickname or codename of the Hunter Killer unit.

The "Amyeong" part could be interpreted in two different ways in Korean:

  • 暗影 (amyeong), meaning "dark shadow."
  • 暗營 (amyeong), meaning "a concealed military camp or force established without the enemy's knowledge."

And "Dae" (대, 隊) refers to a military unit or formation in Korean.

I don't know which meaning the developers intended, but either one would make sense as the nickname of a military unit. If they meant 暗影, it gives off a vibe similar to "Shadow Company."

To sum it up, regardless of which meaning the developers intended, "암영대" would most appropriately be rendered in English as "Amyeong Unit."

Surely MW4 won't launch with only Spetsnaz and SAS in multiplayer... right?

If Korea is supposed to be the main setting, having only British SAS and Russian Spetsnaz as the playable factions feels really bland and lacks variety.

I hope they don't cut corners on something like this just to save development costs.

Korean characters engraved on a PPSh-41

This text is engraved on the PPSh-41:

"MUGI 만포(manpo) 은하 공장"

"MUGI" means "weapon," "은하(Eunha)" means "galaxy," and "공장" means "factory." The "만포(manpo)" part is difficult to read clearly, but it is presumed to be a proper noun.

The text itself as engraved is not a proper Korean sentence or standard Korean notation.

A proper translation would be:

"A weapon made at the 만포(manpo) Eunha Factory."

It seems that this PPSh or kit may be based on the North Korean Type 49 submachine gun (the North Korean licensed version of the PPSh-41), or it could simply be a different fictional setting, an Easter egg, or something similar.

BO6 matchmaking feels like it's only sweats now

It seems like most players have moved on to the newest game, BO7, while veteran players went back to BO1 and BO2, and those who don't like BO7 are playing MWIII instead.

Personally, BO6 is still my favorite, so I play it a lot. Even with the EKIA system, it's become really difficult for me to maintain a 1.0 K/D.

To make things worse, I'm a PC player using keyboard and mouse, so going up against console players has been pretty rough.

Honestly, even Vanguard's multiplayer feels more enjoyable right now.

I think I'm going to take a break from BO6 for a while.

I hope MW4 keeps futuristic elements to an absolute minimum.

I personally don't like futuristic settings, although I understand they have a place in series where that's the core identity. But when it comes to MW4, I really hope it stays as grounded and modern as possible.

Is anyone else constantly failing the Black Ops 7 account verification like me?

Just to be clear, I've already tried every fix and piece of advice I could find online.

I even contacted Activision support directly and followed every step they told me to do, but nothing worked. In the end, they just said they'd let me know if they come up with a solution in the future.

Someone also suggested upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, so as a last resort, I tried that too. It still didn't work.

At this point, I'm giving up until MW4 comes out.

[COD] Physical PC editions of the Call of Duty series

I'm interested in the physical PC editions of the Call of Duty series. To be clear, I'm talking about PC versions, not Xbox or PlayStation releases, and physical releases, not digital ones.

As far as I know, in the United States, physical PC editions were released from the original Call of Duty all the way through Modern Warfare (2019), but physical PC releases stopped after that.

However, I also understand that up through the latest title, Black Ops 7, there are still retail products sold at stores like Walmart in the form of gift cards. If my understanding is correct, up through Black Ops 6, these gift cards provided a CD key that could be redeemed on Battlenet, whereas Black Ops 7 provides a key that can be redeemed through the Microsoft Store. I assume this is related to Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Can anyone confirm whether my understanding is correct or mistaken? Also, does anyone have additional information on this topic?

I don't live in the United States, so it's difficult for me to verify the details firsthand.

Does Anyone Know How to Use Custom User-Made Skins in CS:GO?

Hello. I'd like to know how to apply custom user-made skins in CS:GO, specifically weapon skins and character skins. I'm talking about the CS:GO version that was relisted on Steam in March 2026.

I'm not talking about Counter-Strike 2, and I'm not talking about server-side custom skins.

What I mean are skins that are installed only on your own computer, so that no matter which community server you join, the skins are visible on your screen only. In other words, I'm looking for something similar to the way custom skins can be used in Counter-Strike: Source.

I've searched around the internet and tried various methods, but none of them worked. Does anyone know how to do this?

My Personal Thoughts on Factions in Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer

(English is not my first language, so I appreciate your understanding if there are any mistakes.)

I'm a fan who is looking forward to the release of Modern Warfare 4. Based on the information that has been revealed so far, my understanding is that MW4's faction system will work like this (I could be mistaken, so please correct me if I'm wrong):

  1. Operators can be used regardless of faction.
  2. Multiplayer will only have two factions: SAS and Spetsnaz.

I personally have a negative opinion of both of these decisions.

First, regarding the ability to use operators regardless of faction: while multiplayer is ultimately a casual experience and doesn't need to be perfectly realistic, I still think there should be at least some level of immersion. Call of Duty: Vanguard received a lot of criticism for effectively removing factions altogether. It also created problems with identifying friend and foe during matches.

I've seen the argument that this system exists because some players want to use their favorite operator regardless of which side they're on. Honestly, I think that's more of an excuse than a good reason. I believe there are more players who prefer faction consistency than players who want complete freedom in operator selection.

If the goal is truly to let players use their favorite operator on either side, there are alternative solutions. For example, when a player unlocks a specific operator, they could receive two faction-specific versions of that operator. The character would still be recognizable, but each version would have a slightly different appearance that fits its faction. Some FPS games in South Korea, such as CrossFire and Sudden Attack, have used similar systems with paired character sets. Of course, that would require creating two character models instead of one, which the developers probably wouldn't want to do.

Now, regarding the second point: while nothing has been officially confirmed yet, this game is widely expected to focus heavily on the Korean Peninsula and the conflict between North and South Korea. Given that setting, it feels strange that the only multiplayer factions would be the British SAS and the Russian Spetsnaz. It's not even the United States, South Korea, or North Korea.

Personally, I think a system similar to Black Ops Cold War would be much better. Multiple sub-factions could exist within the two main sides, each with its own faction name, emblem, and announcer. That would add more personality and immersion to multiplayer.

Reducing the faction system this aggressively feels less like a design improvement and more like an excessive attempt to cut development costs.
