Offered a Q very cheap, couldn't say no!

Got myself a Q Typ 116 Titanium edition, totally out of the blue :) My friend offered it me at an amazing price so I snatched their hand off lol. This will be my gateway drug until I get enough together now for a rangefinder

Advantages/disadvantages of a Q3 43 over the Q3 28?

I'm looking for a bit of help from owners of the Q3 of either size, as I can't decide which would suit me better for the type of photography I do. I mostly do the usual travel/street/architecture stuff when I travel and also attend a lot of car shows so take a lot of pictures of what's on show. Most of the last couple of years or so I've used a Fujifilm X100VI so a lot of 35mm stuff which is bang in the middle. I just can't decide if 28mm would be too wide, or 43mm too narrow ☹️

M EV-1 every day useage

Anybody that has or uses a EV1, how do you find it for edc as opposed to using a rangefinder? Does the EVF make it easier? I only ask as I'm looking at either a M240 or MP240 but I'm worried about my eyesight not being able to cope with a traditional rangefinder, so could possibly push the budget for the M EV1 if the EVF is easy to use

Leica M? Or Q2? Or even SL2-S?

I currently have a Lumix S9 with the L mount Lumix S 20-60. As I've posted elsewhere on here, I will have approx £4k in August that I've scrimped and saved so that I can get my dream camera, a Leica, so I'll be having a day trip to London to buy a used one over the counter at somewhere like Red Dot Camera or Aperture. I had originally planned on picking up the SL2 or maybe SL2-S, as I already have an L mount lens so it would be cheaper, but this has now got me thinking - do I really want to buy another L mount autofocus body as my 'dream' camera when I already have the Lumix S9? It seems like a redundant choice really. Maybe it would be better to go for a good quality Q2 (or cheap Q3 if available) as they would do all the hard work of focusing for me, but nevertheless are STILL not my dream Leica. What my heart tells me to get is a rangefinder such as the M-P 240 or even a cheap M10 if there's one available at the time. I can get by for a couple of months using a M42 Helios lens converted to M mount until I can afford a nice Leica 35mm lens. The only thing that bothers me about using a rangefinder is that I've never tried one before so have no experience of the focusing, and I worry that my eyesight won't be up to it as I approach my retirement age

Shopping for Leica in London

As I've mentioned in a different post, I'll be visiting London in a couple of months to pick up a used SL2 (or SL2-S, not made my mind up yet) hopefully from Red Dot Cameras. I know there's also the official Leica stores at Mayfair and Harrods, but can anybody recommend other camera shops to visit while I'm in the city - preferably that deal with Leica and have used stock to look at? Might as well make a day of it and indulge my camera obsession as well as sightseeing!

SL2 or SL2-S?

Is there any specific reason to choose an SL2-S over the SL2? I don't do any sort of videography with cameras (got my phone for that if I really need to) as I'm purely a photographer. I also prefer the higher mp count of the SL2 as there's better results if I need to crop-in. Is it because it's smaller/lighter/cheaper, or purely a personal preference that people go for the SL2-S. Just interested as from what I can see on the used market they are around the same price.

Red Dot Camera store in London

Does anybody have experience of the Red Dot Camera store in London, near The Barbican? Will finally have enough saved to buy a used SL2 in August so thought I might have a day trip out to the big smoke all the way from Norfolk and visit the official Leica stores and Red Dot Camera to see what used stock they have in. Yes the SL2, not the SL2S, because that's the camera I want. No, not the SL3, because I would have to get a mortgage and the SL2 is perfectly fine for what I want to do. Luckily I currently have a Lumix S9 with some Lumix L mount lenses, so I can wait and save up for some proper Leica glass later in the year (24-70 or 24-90, not decided yet)

S9 and Lumix S 20-60, by the sea

A few pics taken last week at Wells by the Sea in Norfolk, UK. All colour pics are using the Streetwise Lut by Emily Lowrey, from the Lumix app. The black and white are taken with the basic Leica Monochrome setting. Minimal cropping and straightening in Lightroom but otherwise all SOOC jpgs.

Time to get serious again.....

I've kind of grown bored with photography recently, but after having got this beauty of a setup I think I can feel some days out coming up :)

I have the lens coming tomorrow and was wondering....if you have the S9 set in aperture priority, do you select the aperture from the ring on the lens, or put that in A mode and select the aperture from the camera?
