Hi reading lots of criticism about Hawley Retainers! Surely it doesn't mess up your bite? I can't risk another Open bite due to aligners so was going to differentiate between vivera and Hawley?

Very concerning as many comment with the issues they have with Hawley.

You have to wear a retainer for 22/7 during the first 12m yet so many still have bite issues from wearing a Hawley and tooth movement.

Is it this bad

Do I have teeth too low down? It's affecting my bite and resting position. What can be done

Very concerned I have a few molars too low affecting my bite and really affecting my jaw

Any advice on my bite?

Also, they're quite stained in photos. brush 3 times a day and floss daily and mouthwash 3 times. I see a hygienist every 3mo

I use mouthwash after eating and drinking then brush 30 minutes later

What you're seeing is just staining plus bad lighting and I saw a Perio a month back , no gum issues.

That aside, Bite is very off unfortunately

Surely canine teeth shouldn't sit this low down should they?

Nothing but problems for 18 months, they won't put the canine teeth back upwards.

What can I do here

I have asked them and they said the occlusion is not traumatic on numerous occasions I feel when I speak they hit as do my front teeth

Picture 2 is before they were extruded ?

Hi I am on braces but worried about this bone loss. It looks to be getting worse over the last 6 months. Periodontist says everything is fine.

Had a lecture about how braces causes bone loss which is fine, but I paid nearly $250 for a consult and no x rays were done ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Concerned about wearing Viveras full time for 12 months after braces. Can you wear a Hawley at night and Vivera in the day? Is that feasibile

When I had Invisalign years ago, it caused awful clicking. It left me a PO bite as well which didn't help at all.

Metal braces now and after I don't want problems with clicking again or a posterior open bite reoccurring.

The clicking has subsidised considerably since being in metal braces for 15 months. I have had 2 or 3 instances during that time.

Id like to get Hawley's for night use and Viveras for the day. Is that ok? I can't be wearing that plastic thing for 22/7 ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hi I have one tooth that is pointier and is affecting my bite. Assistant previously pulled the tooth down can I ask for it to be pushed back up? See pictures it's stopping my bite from closing.

Im currently on elastics they are using to try and fix that, but can they push it back up instead?

Hi thank you for this community, I'm glad it is in new ownership. I have a question about canines being extruded and if this was the correct decision due to them touching when at rest.

Hi my canine teeth were extruded a year ago only 3 months into braces, unfortunately they were at edge to edge for 9 months and didn't harden until this period which was so uncomfortable.

I am worried bringing the teeth all down is not good for my resting bite. My teeth are always touching when at rest.

I am going to ask the orthodontist next week to intrude if they can.

Do you feel my teeth are too low because they want to debond

I'm biting down on all these photos

Hi Is this bone loss caused by lack of Flossing or bone loss when my teeth were misaligned previously. Black triangles and worried about tooth instability.

I didn't notice it before braces after previous Invisalign treatment

I saw my hygienist last week who said it's not serious.

I'm seeing a periodontist next month

Thanks to those who said to me to use Floss threaders. I used a waterpik and flossed over the wire for the past year.

After Invisalign many years ago I Didn't notice these black triangles. I'm worried this is gum disease/bone loss

I have regular cleanings every 3mo ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Very concerned about Hawley Retainer not retaining teeth as well as Vivera's. Is this anything to be concerned about.

Hi I had Vivera for 1 year after Invisalign but unfortunately the whole process of Invisalign left me a posterior open bite.

I'm now in metal braces with around 3-6mo left, and cannot bear to wear Viveras for 22 hours for 12 month's again.

So I want to rotate and wear Viveras and Hawley changing between both,? but also Hawley retainer to allow bite settling.

Is it true Hawley's allow for external movements, ie relapse , rotation and teeth extruding.

Elastics Forcing my Teeth to Touch at Night. Should my teeth be apart ?

I haven't really found anyone talking about this, so I thought I'd ask.

I'm clenching at night; however, I have no TMJ pain, soreness, stiffness at all, and my jaw muscles are in fine shape. basing it off the damage on the tops of my teeth, which must be pretty subtle because neither my ortho or dentist have voiced any concern over it.

What's actually happening is, once I fall asleep, my muscles relax and the elastics pull my jaws together.

When I wake up during the night/first thing in the morning I notice they're touching, but there's no clenching. Once I'm awake, after about 5-10 minutes, the muscles start to resist the elastics again (i.e. my teeth stop touching).

I'm curious if anyone is having this problem

As for now, I only have to wear my elastics at night

I have my next ortho appointment in about 3 weeks so I'll definitely be asking about it then

Since last adjustment appointment my teeth don't touch on one side and I have edge to edge bite on two teeth? Is this normal, as debonding is booked in 2 weeks?

Hi I have since had hygiene clean visit, not all staining can be removed.

Anyway so since my last appointment they made some more teeth go down but this is now causing more bite issues. This was an assistant who did this.

They want to debond and remove braces. I don't think I can like this, it's really uncomfortable my bite.

I have only seen ortho 4 times in 1 year but never had an appointment directly with him he only pops in is that normal too?

The whole point of braces was to fix the back teeth not touching caused by Invisalign but extruding the front teeth 6 teeth 1 year ago, made it very uncomfortable for me, and now this new issue has just made my bite worse.

I wish my teeth were higher up so I have more room to rest my mouth. Is this normal ?

when I rest my teeth, there should be a Freeway space, but they all touch.

Teeth touching when you rest is and as causes additional wear ?

Hi is it normal for my teeth to be loose for so many weeks and months after being pulled down?

When I bite down they move upwards, also I have edge to edge bite on 1 tooth.

My canines were like this for 6 months! I hope it doesn't shorten the roots?

My current teeth ( circled ) are loose as in they move upwards when I bite down

I have had edge to edge on red circled tooth, shall I ask to see ortho at next visit instead of assistant.

Fraudulent Vinted buyer created a Universal Credit application in my name, and an appointment at my local Jobcentre branch! How did they access my email, phone number & email address. I used royalmail. Is it a trap to meet me at the Jobcentre for a confrontation?

Hi, the Vinted Buyer claimed the package was delivered to another address, even though I used the vinted label on file. Royal Mail delivered to a neighbour and they claim they do not have access to this address and that there address is nowhere near the neighbour.

They did not report a problem for over 2 weeks, in which now vinted cannot intervene. Vinted support are no help and say they cannot do anything.

Nonetheless a few days later, UC send me messages and text messages and now an appointment has been booked at my local Jobcentre. Apart from calling the department for work and pensions tomorrow, how did the buyer get this information.

Surely the royal mail returns label would not have given all these details.

Do i attend the Jobcentre appointment to explain or just call DWP ?

Update:

Well sorry I have caused some people to get upset, be accused of being paranoid, I'm sorry but I found the whole.ordeal a bit frightening due to it being a scam and someone having access to my details, all happening around the time of my incident on vinted? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Some of you have been helpful some haven't but I thank you all for your responses, I have been put at some ease as yes likely this isn't the vinted buyer from what many of you are saying ๐Ÿ™‚

Why has the orthodontist booked De-bonding when we are not done and teeth were moved at my last appointment. If unhappy can I keep the braces on.

Also Why are teeth filed down at the end of treatment? Instead of being intruded (pushed back up)

I'm currently going through this my most previous adjustment, I have a tooth that was extruded ? Why?... They never explain it just makes it so uncomfortable.

Now I have a tooth touching first, a premolar on my right side and none of the other teeth touch. It's awful.

At the end of treatment, why do they not just push it back up, instead of filing it. I will be refusing teeth being filed at the end of treatment

I am going to give it 1 month and go back and ask for that tooth to go back up? As my other side of jaw isn't balanced and bite is off.

They've booked me in for debonding but I cannot go ahead due to constant issues every adjustment. Is this ok?

Why would they book a debond on month 14 when we aren't done ? Do they want patients out as quick as possible?

I have teeth that are longer now than the other on one side causing jaw discomfort as mentioned.

Thank you to this community it's so helpful during treatment ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿซ‚

How long do you wait for retainer after braces removal? orthodontist will do Retainer scan after braces are taken off. Should they not be done with the braces on so you don't have to wait 3 days for the retainer as teeth can move.

How long is reasonable. I want Vivera + Hawley but they don't do an essix retainer in house so there will be a short delay for retainers. Can I be scanned with the braces still on?
