I’ll go first:
I’ve been building a live AI startup competition called THE CAPITAL where founders compete publicly every week for visibility, rankings, and podium spots.

Honestly the most interesting part has been seeing founders start campaigning for votes and sharing rankings publicly once competition gets involved.

17 founders competed in Week 1 and Week 2 is already live now.

Another thing, I run a weekly live ai tools leaderboard where the winners get homepage exposure + newsletter mention. This weeks leaderboard currently containers 10 founders competing for the podium. This is not an ad just a ”We can help eachother out” thing.

Instead of building a normal AI tools directory, I turned it into a live weekly competition where founders compete publicly for Top 3 visibility spots.

17 founders ended up competing in Week 1.

What surprised me most:
the moment rankings became public, founders instantly started:
- sharing their positions
- asking people to vote
- competing for the podium
- caring way more about visibility/status

It made the whole platform feel more alive than a normal directory.

Week 2 just started and founders are already entering again.

Curious:
do you think public competition/leaderboards are underrated growth mechanics for startups?

engagement changed completely.

Instead of passively listing their tools, founders started:
- sharing rankings publicly
- asking people to vote
- competing for placement
- caring way more about visibility/status

It made me realize something:
A lot of startup founders don’t just want traffic.

They want:
recognition, momentum, and proof that people are paying attention.

Honestly fascinating psychology to watch in real time.

I know what it feels like when you just launched and weeks pass and maybe you get some visitors here and there. It sucks but you have to go through it, im not here to promote or anything just asking if any tool founders want to work together. I own a ~3 month old ai directory website and have just created a free tier where you can list your tool for free. Im doing this to expand my catalog and get more relevant pages about tools on my website.
