“Real Jazz-Fusion” only consists of the 1970s Jazz Rock Fusion Scene and the 60’s Brazilian MPB Scene . What is known by “Jazz-Pop Fusion” is nothing but pop music with questionable real jazz influence. When people try to argue that artists like Laufey are not real jazz-fusion, while saying that Frank Sinatra is, I can’t help not to cringe because they are just as fake Jazz-fusion as Laufey (plus the pretentiousness). Real jazz sounds FUNKY, GROOVY and somewhat COMPLEX. Fake Jazz-Fusion is boring, uninspired and a failed attempt to direct rhythm and harmony into music. Some examples of REAL JAZZ-FUSION are Steely Dan, Santana, Jamiroquai (the only real Jazz-Fusion band from the Jazz-Pop label) and Azymuth. Some examples of FAKE JAZZ-FUSION are Animals As Leaders, Laufey and Kenny G JAZZ-FUSION BELONGS TO ROCK NOT TO INDIE, POP, METAL OR ANY OTHER UNINSPIRED GENRE
