[Admissions advice] LOR from ex manager

I can’t ask my current manager for LOR since they’ll know that I’m leaving and that can cause negative effect. Can I ask my ex manager who left the company to write LOR? Should it have his new companies letter head or is it just a word doc? Please help. Applying for Fall 2027 MS CS

Felt like had the worst tech interview

I had an interview with a company where the first round was conducted by a third party interviewer. He asked me to share my screen and for some reason I could not and had to reload the screen and due to it I had to rejoin. I know it was bad on my side but I did tell him that there’s an issue and since I couldn’t share my screen I couldn’t even show him the reload message. Later he started with a coding question. I took my time to come up with a solution but it didn’t work and in between I lost electricity in turn losing WiFi connection. That made him think I’m cheating since I had to rejoin again. I did clarify that it was due to network issues I’m not justifying myself but it was genuinely not my fault.

Later he asked me a few questions where I did give answers but he looked unsatisfied. He was yawning continuously and he looked like he was reading questions off chatgpt. I’m not bashing the interviewer but the interview made me feel really bad about myself. Considering it was just after I had a syncope episode.

Just wanted to share it here. It was my first interview after 2.5 years and it really made me question myself with all the physical and mental stress I had.

[Profile Review] MS CS Fall 2027 in US

I’ve graduated from a tier 3 college in India with CGPA of 9.55/10 in 2024. I don’t have any research experience. I’ve been working in a startup for about 2.6 years now. And my tech stack is MERN stack. I plan to pursue masters in CS and my target countries are US,UK,Germany.
Could someone help me make a list of universities. Open to connect on DM to discuss further as well.
Some on Reddit say even job experience doesn’t matter and I’m going to end up jobless. Very confused right now. Still preparing for GRE and IELTS. planned for a 1 year MS in UK before but the job market there seems really bad

Getting no interview callbacks - 2.5 years of experience

I’ve about 2.5 years of experience working as a software developer(MERN) in a startup in Bangalore. It’s not a bad startup but I want to switch jobs now. And I’ve been applying on multiple portals like LinkedIn, wellfound and naukri. But i didn’t get any callbacks until now.

Do you think MS CS in US is worth it in 2026?

So my_qualifications include BE in Information science from a tier 3 college. CGPA around 9.5/10. I have around 2.5 years working at a startup as a software engineer. Do you think it’s a good choice to pursue MS in CS in the US? I don’t plan of settling there forever anyways. Thinking of maybe working for 2 years there and then return back to India. But is it worth to leave my current job here and go there? Don’t earn a lot thought. Slightly lesser than 12LPA
Does previous work experience even matter?
And I don’t think I’ll be going on some educational loan as well. Still is it worth it? What’s the current job market like?
Please help me out!!

Masters in CS - is it worth?

I’ve experience of about 2.5 years working as a software developer in a startup in India. Is it worth taking the risk of leaving my job and going to UK for MS in CS? What’s the current situation of jobs? And do I hold an edge if I have experience of 2.5 years?
