I hate how misunderstood Obito is

I genuinely think Obito is one of the most misunderstood characters in Naruto. So many people reduce him to "he started a war because Rin died," but that's such a surface-level take of his character.

Rin wasn't the sole reason he broke. She was the final straw. Obito spent his childhood as an outcast, got crushed under a boulder while trying to do the right thing, woke up in a cave being manipulated by Madara, watched the person who supported him for a good portion of his life, was always there for him, and the girl who represented the only happiness he had in his life, get killed by his best friend, and was immediately fed the idea that the shinobi world itself was fundamentally broken.

People also ignore that Obito himself says Rin wasn't the reason—she was simply the victim of a world that kept producing tragedies like hers. His goal became escaping that reality entirely through the Infinite Tsukuyomi, not bringing Rin back to life. He could have put a genjutsu on himself if it was just about being with Rin. But he didn't, he wanted peace for everyone

You don't have to agree with his ideology and his methods(infinite tsumiyoki is screwed up), but saying "he started a war over a girl" completely strips away the complex traits which define his character. It feels like people either haven't paid attention or intentionally oversimplify him because it's an easy meme.

What are some of the saddest anime scenes which made you cry?

  1. Naruto Shippuden: When Naruto returns from beating Pain and sees the whole village cheer for him. Amazing payoff and contrast from episode 1 when everyone hated him. Also note that I cried to alot of scenes from Shippuden but since I'm doing only one scene per anime, this scene fits the bill

  2. One Piece: Chopper backstory. No words, absolutely heartbreaking, made me continue one piece when I thought of dropping it

  3. I want to eat your pancreas: Can I cry now scene. Those who know💀💀

  4. 86: when Lena and Shin meet. The music in this scene was crazy, and the moment when she realizes that they all survived, and the papers fly away, then the tears roll in, yup, peak

  5. Attack On Titan: Mikasa crying at Eren's grave, sorry for not providing a better picture

  6. Erased: When Kayo realizes what it's like to have a loving mother take care of you, something she hadn't experienced her whole life

Help me decide a rating scale for anime(read description too)

Been struggling to rate anime for a year straight, system 1 offers more nuance but I have to say, if I'm finishing an enjoyable shonen like demon slayer JJK, I don't think it's great but I can't seem to give it anything below an 8, cuz I enjoyed it that much. So system 2 is easier, although in system 2, 7 doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Help me decide which rating system to use

I really hate when people say Naruto was carried by his destiny

I hate that ppl write off Naruto's hard work and dedication just because he was the 4th Hokages son or that he was Asura's reincarnation. Like yeah okay, maybe he was destined. Does that mean all his hard work was for naught? My guy had to take the exams 3 times just because Kurama messed with his chakra. Naruto had to grind for rasengan(to the point that he passed out from exhaustion), rasenshuriien, master sage mode, get the nine tails full power. All of which required effort. And he had to do it when no one believes in him. Put some respect on Naruto and don't write him off as "gifted" just because he was destined to become great. That's like someone saying I have a destiny of becoming the greatest tennis player in history. Does that mean I don't gotta work hard to get to that milestone?

How do people think Obito(without the Rinnegan) beats Itachi or Pain when frickin Konan did this to him

Obito is a fraud imo. Especially orange mask. He got pushed by Konan ffs. How do ppl compare him to Itachi, the guy who just looked at Kakashi and put him to sleep for 2 weeks. Obito had to fight for his life against Kakashi😭. Also Pain absolutely blows Obito out the water. Kamui is a good defense but he can only do it for 5 mins, and Obito doesn't have offensive abilities, like tsumiyoki, or shinra tensei

Obito has no feats, losing badly to Minato is not a good feat, beating up 2 anbu is not a good feat. Fighting H2H with Kakashi is a good feat, but Itachi? Rocked Kakashi. Pain? I don't even need to explain

GENUINELY HOW DO PPL THINK OBITO BEATS PAIN, IF HE HAS TO FIGHT ALL OF EM AT ONCE? He can escape but he can't do anything to the paths either. Once his kamui runs out, he's done for. I think even Itachi beats Obito, one tsumiyoki and Obito is done. Good luck escaping a genjutsu

Initially upon watching the rascal series, I didn't like Mai as much as most of the community does.I like girls who are lovey dovey, full deredere, like Waguri, Marin, Mahiru. I initially thought Mai was a lil rude, way too entitled(cuz of her career), not treating Sakuta like a boyfriend but rather like a friend (she doesn't wanna cuddle w him, kiss him etc etc)

But now I realize, there are other ways to show love rather than physical attractions. Mai literally DIED for Sakuta. Yes she tends to be a little bossy, but she is just not that type of person who is lovey dovey, she is focused on her career, which I have grown to respect. She genuinely cares for Sakuta and trusts him(when he is with other girls). Also she does wanna kiss him but the anime robbed us of their kiss. They baited us hard in season 1 and knapsack kid movie. Hopefully in the last movie we get a kiss scene

My preferences are different, but that doesn't mean Mai is bad. In a lot of aspects, she is actually better than Mahiru, Waguri, Marin etc.
