JHS Pulp n Peel > Abominable Electronics Hail Satan Deluxe > Dead Air Portrayal of Guilt / Matt King dual drive > amp
Amp fx send > EHX Clone Theory > amp fx return

Without thinking about it, every board I put together has the same core - compressor > muff-style fuzz > (at least) two drive stages > chorus. Other boards may have more effects, but most every one of my boards ends up with this pattern somewhere in the chain. For this one I wanted to achieve the platonic ideal of my pattern with 4 pedals and boy does this deliver.

I’m thrilled with how all of the drive stages work on this setup. The dual drive gives me both light and heavy overdrive stages which can be activated independently, the hail satan let’s me choose between a Russian muff and abominable’s own take + a buffer toggle which makes a big difference. If I want it I can also get the rat distortion from the pulp n peel but I typically prefer leaving the pnp clean. This gives me a ton of options for different drive sounds with just footswitch clicks and toggle flips.

A wall of legal trouble

My current collection of 70s “lawsuit” models. My dad had a lawsuit strat when I was growing up, and I absolutely loved that guitar. It was heavy as hell and sounded great. These 3 are the same - super weighty, both physically and sonically. That Ripper sounds absolutely massive, I have it tuned in B standard and it’s just a doom machine.

Mount Doom

Good for the soul, bad for the neighbors and the structural integrity of my house.

For the most part, any two amps can be biamped or master/slaved to power both cabs, except the Bass which can only serve as a master. The MAX and the Kilobass can power both cabs independently, and I’m mostly playing the Kilobass through both these days. The Mark IV anf Mark VIII both have line out going to the studio board.

Noise rock board

My board and amp setup for some noise rock jamming. Bass goes into the CS3 > green muff > palisades > front of the Combo 115. The mf chorus > mf ring > dreadbox is in the effects loop. Crossover high out from the Combo 115 to a powered 2x10 cab.

Modest bedroom noise rock rig

Just-acquired Combo 115 with high crossover out to a Series 500 BH 2x10 powered enclosure. Heavy as fuck in every way possible.
