I'm seeking feedback on my latest screenplay. This story was co-written with my best friend over the past few years. It's R-Rated (content/language warning) and begins during the 1990s in Downtown Cleveland. I had given up on this sub 3 years ago because I rarely got replies and the people I did try to build friendship with never stayed for long. BUT I kept up all my old posts just in case someone wanted to reach out in the future.

Well, lo and behold back in January of this year, someone reached out to me offering to watch his favorite show together (which I'd never seen).

I agreed and we've been good friends ever since!

6 months later, we've shared almost a dozen awesome shows together, talked about them, ranked seasons, characters and episodes, phone calls, etc. And in recent months we've gotten more personal too, sharing more stuff about our lives, careers, personal goals, and over time its started feeling like a real friendship is growing and I'm so grateful to this sub for giving me the opporunity to make this connection.

So if you're feeling jaded about the subreddit, keep your posts up, because you never know who might reach out years later :)

I just watched Cast Away and man that really made me feel sad by the end. One of the saddest movies I've ever seen. I think its the idea that he really did die there. Its like he was dead the moment the plane crashed. Now, even though he's back, he's a different man in a different world. And the ironic part? The event that took it all away is now the most meaningful part of his life. I wonder, did he even have a best friend before he left? If not, Wilson really did mean everything and kept him sane.

I think what makes the movie a little bit eerie, to be honest, is that he was never really there, then he was gone, and now he's not truly back because everyone has moved on from him. There's also the idea that he was most alive before he went to the island, and the island changed him into someone he didn't want to be. You can even tell that the chemistry between him and the people he knew is not the same anymore. Some people would call him wiser, but I would almost say that he's in some ways a shell of who he used to be. In some ways, I don't think he should have ever left the island, and he should have continued living that lifestyle somewhere else. (Meaning: What he needed was reintegration. Like that island lifestyle somewhere else but with people)

The ending image with the crossroads kind of reminds me of an airport. Like when he went on that plane to go on the island, now he's about to get on a new plane.
