I have just finished my PGCE, and sadly I wasn't able to secure a post in my subject specialism this year, so I have been applying to the cover supervisor roles that are still left in my area. I had an interview today that I thought had gone pretty well, but I ended up being unsuccessful.
The feedback the head gave me in the follow up call was that he felt that my answers to questions about what I would do if I had a class where no work had been set, or student claimed that the incorrect work had been set were insufficient.
I had said that I would check the cover information packet, check students books, and contact the cover lead for assistance.
So people with cover teaching experience, what would you actually do in this situation?
