Dead quick matching for activities is ruining this game for me

F2P player here since February and I really enjoy the game. I’m in the end game where I really want to farm activities like hoard mode, dungeons, erreban, abyssal verge, vanguard, terror rifts, heliquary
I attempt to do “quick matching” on any of these and SOMETIMES I’ll get lucky once or twice in vanguard or challenge dungeon but 9/10 times I’m sitting for 5-10 minutes with literally no luck.
It sucks all the excitement out of this game for me. I get the sense this game is active and has lots of players but WHERE IS EVERYONE?
I’ve even joined several clans with many members and would often invite everyone to these activities and no one comes. It’s like a “dead game” experience yet it’s clearly not a dead game.
What’s going on?

Vari Active Seat: disappointed Day 1, am I missing something?

ok I got the vari desk active seat and already in 10 minutes I hate it I must be using it wrong. Before I sell it or give it away I need an instruction manual how to use it for a week before I decide. in minutes I already have tailbone pain, too much anterior pelvic tilt, coccyx pain. Not really pain but tenderness like I know its gonna hurt after using it for days.

the whole design seems so dumb now that I think of it. I jumped on it because it was at a thrift store for insane discount. but the whole premise is to basically sit on your tailbone which seems like asking for injury. Even when leaning on it you are still on your tailbone. are you supposed to sit on the edge lip of the cushion or deep into it so your back touches the "back lip" raised handle thing? it's insane I need a tutorial on "how to sit" in this chair, but i'm willing to test it for a week I dont want to cause myself injury. im feeling back pain in almost 10 minutes already. The domed cushion seems to go against all ergonomics for your tailbone/coccyx, there's so much pressure there compared to flat or curved normal chairs and benches. I must be sitting on it wrong or using wrong height. I notice my hips go forward and I roll hips forward onto tailbone naturally when I sit on this thing maybe I am doing it wrong or have the wrong height.

Would love some advice/insights/experiences. Did anyone at first find it very uncomfortable BUT then learned how to use it and felt it was better?

Question about the ATAI/Lilly CVR tax situation

Trying to get some clarity on the tax side of the Lilly/ATAI deal. I’ve been reading through the SEC proxy and I’m still not 100% clear on how the CVR is going to be taxed.

The proxy says Lilly intends to treat the CVR as a “closed transaction.” From what I understand, that could mean the 2026 proceeds for tax purposes are:

$6.75 cash + whatever FMV they assign to the CVR at closing

So if the CVR FMV ends up being $0.87, would we potentially be taxed in 2026 as if we received $7.62/share, even though we might not actually receive any milestone money for another 1–4 years?

Broker told me my 1099-B will "probably jus show the  $6.75," and anything involving the CVR should be discussed with my accountant. The proxy also seems to say the 1099-B might not include the CVR FMV.

Has anyone here talked to a CPA/tax attorney about this or figured out exactly how the CVR will show up for tax purposes for us shareholders?

Also, am I understanding the closed vs. open transaction language correctly? It seems like Lilly is saying they intend to report it as closed, but the IRS could theoretically disagree later.

Just trying to figure out whether we're potentially paying taxes on CVR value this year before we actually receive the milestone money.

Farming rift at a chance at a five star gem vs farming items to sell on the market for Plat

I've been thinking, the chance to actually find a legendary gem in an elder rift run, let alone the one you specifically want, is extremely low. Good five star legendary's cost anywhere from 26,000 to 28,000 plat on the market. What if you put all the time in you would do rift runs and take that time and put it into farming things to sell on the market like normal gems, terror essence, runes, etc. Which would be more effective way of time usage?

Also, how much higher chance of a legendary drop is an elder rift using 10 legendary crest versus one?

what will give me the biggest boost of strength among daily activities?

I play necromancer and even though I am up to inferno 12, I still feel I am weak. I use a lightning bone armor summon build which has been the best for me so far. but I get rocked in 1 hit if anything hits me, and im not doing as much damage as I wish I did. if I have an hour a day to play what should I be focusing on

Is there a site with up-to-date builds for DI?

Back in the day for D3 I used MaxRoll to look up builds. they dont have a DI section anymore.

A lot of videos are outdated. Is there a site y'all like to use to look up the latest builds/most popular builds?

what do spend fading embers on?

I have 700 so far, even after buying an eternal legendary crest.

should I save legendary crest for the gem event? and then for now use embers to buy dupes of my current 2 star gems I use just to level them up?

F2P playing for a few weeks, what’s the point of familiars?

playing summon necro. in inferno V. fairly happy with a build finally. understanding all the game mechanics more and more (there’s just so many things to collect and upgrade). what still overwhelms me is Familiars. what’s the point? I have a basic level 30 one from the tutorial. and it just runs around and collects gold during activities. I keep getting notifications that I can buy summon contracts. should I just be summoning familiars everyday? I have like 10 of them. what should I be going for? is there a specific one that’s really good? is there one that can give any big quality of life improvement ?(more than just pick up gold sometimes)
