We adopted Winnie a couple weeks ago. On Wednesday she was spayed and had a mast cell tumor removed. Since then we’ve had to give medication twice a day. But she is totally not food motivated so the only way we can only get them in by force. This has caused her to lose all trust in us. She won’t get close to us and it’s getting harder to administer and even leash her for walks. Will this hurt her trust forever? How can we continue this for a whole two weeks?

Treats are totally a no go. She ate dinner the second night but now stopped again. We’ve tried baby food, canned tuna, freeze dried beef liver, dried salmon, 5 kinds of cheese, her own food, hot dogs, vegetables, pâté, and more in various forms and combinations to no avail.

We brought Winnie home about two weeks ago and we’re still learning how to read her. I can’t tell if she’s frozen or trying to be submissive or if she’s sitting still to be pet. She can be very wary and appeasing so I don’t want to cross her boundaries. I think the kiss on the head may have been too much, are the pets in general too much as well?

TW: death of pet

I moved states by car today and my boy Wickett didn’t make it through the trip. He was a rescue so I have no clue how old he was. he was fine the day before. I’m absolutely heartbroken and I don’t know what I could’ve done differently. Not exactly asking for advice, just wanted to share my lovely Wickett one last time I guess. He was probably wild caught so he never liked me very much, but I love him very very much

I just got these guys and I’m wondering if the one that’s ahead of the other two in it’s growing cycle should go into it’s own pot when I replant them
