I've been looking into the 1979 revolution in iran and it seems the revolution was a group effort by people of different ideologies which included liberals, communist etc but ayatollah had most of them executed, so how was ayatollah able to gain so much influence? Did he have public support? Or was he a really good politician?

I just got back here yesterday(after a year) and I was looking to buy biryani but all shops nearby my home were closed yesterday, there were some restaurants delivering on zomato but all restaurants nearby my home were closed.

Has there been any such any rule added recently?
