My pool pump fuse keeps blowing

I have a 240V pool pump that runs fine for about five minutes, then blows the fuse. I have already replaced the fuse twice, but the same thing keeps happening.

I checked the voltage at the panel, and it reads fine. The pump also does not make any unusual sounds while running. I have been looking for replacement fuses on Amazon, Alibaba, and eBay. The original fuse is a 20-amp slow-blow cartridge type. Since I am currently on a tight budget, I am buying more affordable fuses for now.

Could the issue be caused by a bad capacitor, or maybe a loose fuse holder creating excess heat?

My power window motor died.

The power window motor on my 2010 sedan died last week. The dealer wants one hundred eighty dollars for a replacement.

I have seen the same motor on Alibaba, Amazon, and eBay for twenty five dollars. The cheap ones look identical in photos but I am worried about quality and fit.

Has anyone here bought a budget window motor from these marketplaces?

How long did it last?

I do not mind replacing it again in a few years if it saves me money now.

But I do not want it to fail in a month.

Also any tips on testing the motor before installing?

Would love your advice.

Is a micro donut brand still worth starting in a market dominated by big bakery chains?

Hi everyone, I’m exploring the idea of starting a micro donut brand and would really appreciate some honest advice.

I’m wondering if this kind of small setup is still viable today, given competition from big chains and supermarkets.

My plan is to use a compact donut machine for small-batch, consistent production, and keep costs low by sourcing packaging materials in wholesale form from platforms like Alibaba, while getting ingredients locally for freshness and quality control.

The idea is to focus on a micro, made-to-order style brand for local sales.

Do you think this model can still compete and grow in today’s market?

Any advice would help.

Where to source commercial freezers

I am looking to get into the business of exporting refrigeration equipment, specifically chest freezers and ice cream freezers, starting next month.

I have been searching on Global Sources and other marketplaces like Alibaba, and many of the suppliers I come across seem to be overseas manufacturers.

I am open to sourcing internationally, but I would also like to find regional or local suppliers to reduce shipping costs, import duties, and other extra expenses.

For those of you who export freezers or similar cooling products, where do you usually find reliable manufacturers or distributors?

I am trying to understand how experienced exporters build supplier networks and source quality appliances on demand.

Any advice on finding dependable freezers at competitive prices would really help.

Feel Like Family is Shunning my Idea

I’m dealing with some tension in my family and wanted to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar.

I’ve been interested in starting a small side hustle of selling donuts at events and maybe even small pop-up stands. I am serious about it, I just completed campus and thought why stay idle yet I got skills that I can use. So, I did my research about the number of equipments I'd need and most seem managable from my little little savings here and there.

The issue lies in that there is just one thing I really can't buy on my own so I thought to myself that surely my family would see the need of me having something going on for myself and support me on this.

The item in question is a donut machine to be able to produce donuts at scale quite fast and I have researched on affordable donut machines from online shops from marketplaces like Alibaba.

The issue is that my family doesn’t really support the idea. They think it’s risky and that I might waste money on low-quality equipment, even though I’ve tried to compare different options carefully.

I understand their concern and I get that starting a business isn't always easy but I also feel like it could be a good opportunity if managed well.

Has anyone here dealt with family resistance when starting a small business?

How did you handle it and prove your idea was worth trying?

Alibaba vending machines

Hey everyone, I’m looking for real experiences from anyone who’s actually bought a vending machine from Alibaba.

I’m considering starting a small vending side business and the prices on Alibaba look way lower than local suppliers, but I’m honestly unsure if it’s worth the risk.

My main questions are:

  • How was the build quality in real life?
  • Did shipping/customs end up way more expensive than expected?
  • Any issues with parts, software, or repairs?
  • Would you do it again or go local next time?

I’ve read mixed opinions online and don’t want to mess up a first investment.

Any honest advice or experiences would really help. Thanks!

I guess what the sub needs is to define itself, that's all I'm saying.

seeking advice before buying a budget donut machine

I’m currently working on a tight budget and planning to set up a small bakery business. One of the products I want to focus on is donuts, so I’ve been researching budget commercial donut machines online. I did check out Amazon, Alibaba, and similar platforms.

Some of the machines look affordable and claim to handle decent daily production, which sounds attractive for a startup. At the same time, I’m worried about durability, consistency, maintenance costs, and whether cheaper machines can keep up once orders increase.

For anyone who has experience using lower-cost commercial donut makers, would you recommend starting with one or waiting and investing in a more expensive machine instead?

I am not cheapening out, I am just on a tight budget.

I’ve been doing repairs and it’s getting frustrating.

I’ve replaced switches that were nearly 10 years old and still worked perfectly, solid feel, no issues at all.

Meanwhile, some newer rocker switches I’ve installed have failed in under two months. They go intermittent, lose their click, or just die completely.

What’s strange is it doesn’t seem to matter where they’re from, brands or budget sources like Amazon, AliExpress, or Alibaba.

Is overall quality dropping, or am I missing something?

Any recommendations for reliable switches?
