USERRA question

USERRA question

Does this section mean I should have received yearly salary increases like everyone else ? I missed 2x yearly reviews because I was on orders. So I went back in 2025 with the same pay as I was making in 2023. I inquired about it and they flat told me no.

If you work for McCarthy ; how do you like it?

They’re a fairly big company so I’m posting here to get some insight. I have two potential offers on the table. One for McCarthy and one for a local GC mostly specializing in County, State, and DOD projects (some non-gov).

Position : Project Manager

Coming from : owner rep Construction PM ; design and development for a major company. Personally I want to make the switch from owner to GC.

Looking for some input on McCarthy.

Where do AT orders show in IPPSA?

Where will I locate my AT orders? This will be my first AT with a reserve unit. Normal scenario would be looking in Orders or TDY events in IPPSA - is this the same case?

If I don’t have orders yet before my flight, do I go?

Las Vegas to ATL (Marietta specifically probably )

We’ll be relocating to the area for work in the next few months. We’ve been in Vegas since 2022, before that it was Florida for a short while and then Nashville for a long time (about 10 years). Long story short, Vegas just isn’t for us. We have pretty good job opportunities in the Atlanta area and are jumping on it. We’re a two mom household. I’m very curious about how LGBTQ+ friendly this area is, especially for those who are parents. We’re looking in east Cobb area specifically simply because of the schools. Nevada public school system is atrocious so we’re looking for a big upgrade there.

Other things that intrigue me about the area is the larger home lots (Vegas lots are TINY). My backyard is literally 22x35. There’s some amazing mountain biking near by and even trails within 20 min. While I won’t be able to get to Red Rock National Park in 5 minutes, the area seems to have some great outdoor parks for hiking, biking, and trail running. No, I won’t be able to go to San Diego, flagstaff, salt lake, mammoth lakes, or LA for a long weekend but as of lately I’ve really enjoyed more remote areas, mountains, and less busy beaches. A lower pace more to say. Plus we have ton of friends and family still in FL and Nashville which isn’t far at all. Over all I’m thrilled for this move, just nervous about being a same-sex couple with kids in a more suburban area.

I’ve visited ATL plenty of times and have loved it, mainly midtown and Buckhead but with kids now that’s a no-go especially if we want to purchase a home and be in a good school zone.

This is certainly going to be our last move for the long haul as my son is starting kindergarten next year. My stepdaughter is starting middle school next year as well. Hoping to find our forever place.

Any input regarding LGBTQ friendly areas would be appreciated.

I have a baby cat. 11 weeks old. I’ve never had such a small thing before and I’m just not sure what/how. I have a 2000 sq foot house. Do I just let the dude roam around when I’m not home? At this age if the house is so big compared to him can I expect that he’ll make it to the litter box? I always keep the bedroom doors closed when I’m not home so it is less space when I’m away but I don’t want to overwhelm him. How many weeks for him to adjust?

Also this is more of a dumb question - Is it okay to just feed him dry kibble? This wet cat food stinks terribly.

How many hours it okay being away if he has access to the litter, food and water? I work at 6am-2pm . My wife works at 9-5pm. So really there’s only about 5-6 hours (with commute) between but I do use my garage gym after work and then also go to an MMA class with my son at 4:30pm. I of course pay attention to the baby cat and give him some love when I get home. Just want to make sure I’m a good cat parent. Cats do their own thing from what I know, unlike a dog. I love dogs but can’t commit to the commitment, we just don’t have time, so we settled on a cat (my wife likes cats more).

Advise if you have it.

Want to pay under $5500 for an emtb. Looking at specialized Turbo Levo 4 Alloy ($5185) or Canyon Spectral:ON CF 8 ($4499). Which is the better bike for the money considering it’s pretty close?

I live in Las Vegas, trails a few blocks from my house leading in to Red Rock Canyon and a bike park coming soon which I’d love to ride. There also a downhill area at a local ski area about 50 min away but I may only get up there once a month so not focusing on that kind of riding at the moment.

Heard canyon still have some battery issues? Maybe worse customer service. Quality wise and for the type of riding, what’s my biggest bang for the buck.

Two options. I’ve heard Canyon has had bad battery issues and questionable customer service. Apparently these issues are resolved but I’ve seen reviews as recent as last month complaining about battery problems.

The price difference seems mildly negligible. Who’s is the better bike? I live in Nevada and do a lot of trail riding and have BLM land that starts at the end of my neighborhood that opens up to a bunch of different trail systems, some downhill at the ski area 45min away, and they’re building a new bike park 10 blocks from my house. Looking to get a good all around bike but I really want the e-bike option to help get me the most out of my time out on those trails near red rock canyon (faster, farther, boost up the steep inclines)

Looking to buy an eMtb. I live on the southwest side Las Vegas and frequent the blue diamond area to ride (for anyone here that may ride out the way and familiar with terrain). I mostly ride blue/some black and would love to get up to Lee canyon ski area for some downhill this summer as well (love down hill). I’ll probably try and travel a bit to ride, like at downieville, mammoth, SW Utah, etc. I can buy either of these bikes for about the same price $5999 for the kenevo and $6375 for the Levo. Which is the better bike for the terrain out here? I’m a used to be east coast rider (Appalachian, more roots than rocks, packed dirt) that recently moved out here and I’ve been out of the biking scene for a while. Want to get my best bang for the buck.

I’ve also looked at Canyon Spectral ON CF 8 and a Orbea Rise LT H2O but not sold completely.
