What academic subjects do you think the mdzs characters would be good at?

If they were part of the modern schooling system, what academic subjects would the mdzs characters be good at?

I feel Lan Wangji would be the kind of student who would ace all subjects somehow but I have a feeling he would be a natural at literature specifically. He would also regularly study and perform well in all the subjects, like a student who's always prepared for any exam at all times.

As for Wei Wuxian I feel he would be really really good at a subject without trying really hard uk what I mean? Like one of those students who are just naturally talented at a subject without them having to put in extra hours. I have a feeling he'd be very good at STEM

Xue Yang would also be like Wei Wuxian but a little less focused. I think he kind of wouldn't care but if he put his mind to it, he'd be able to do it.

Lan Sizhui would also be good at literature like Lan Wangji.

I would loveee to know what you guys thinkkk!

How do you think Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji would type? All lowercase, all uppercase or normal?

Wei Wuxian would be extremely chalant even in his typing so I'd imagine he would type normally, like the first letter of every sentence is capital or all uppercase at times of frustration or joy.

Lan Wangji maybe would maybe type in lowercase or normally? He's not the type to yell even over text I'm assuming.

I'm curious to know what you guys think!

I think Wei Wuxian was the reason Lan Wangji started to question himself and think differently

If Lan Wangji had never met Wei Wuxian, maybe he would never question himself or the rules of cloud recesses and even if he did, it wouldn't be to the extent at which he did after being with Wei Wuxian and observing how he was treated.

When they met initially when they were 15, he strictly followed the rules of cloud recesses and Wei Wuxian defied them every chance he got.

Him following the rules is completely understandable on his part. He had only ever seen his uncle and brother rigidly following the 3000 rules and he didn't have any reason to rebel against them. Though it's also possible that he did question them considering everything that happened with his parents, especially his mother, but never voiced it.

But I do also feel that he was too young to fully comprehend and make sense of what actually happened with his mother.

When Wei Wuxian returned from the Burial Mounds and started cultivating with resentful energy, he was very disturbed by it and told him to come back to gusu with him.

I think during all the events of the sunshot campaign is where he started to actually question himself and his own morals.

In one of the adaptations, Lan Xichen tells Wei Wuxian at the confrontation in the temple about how Lan Wangji was "the perfect child" who never went against the rules and how for Wei Wuxian he threw aside all of that and fought first hand with 33 sect elders.

This was out of love for Wei Wuxian, yes, but it was also his wakeup call to question the rules that he was asked to follow ever since he was a kid. He was given a very black and white sense of what is right and what is wrong and Wei Wuxian single handedly questioned all of that.

I think Lan Wangji is at his core a person that is willing to learn and change opinions if given a solid reason. This and the regret he felt for not being by Wei Wuxian's side is what motivated him to do be better and was the reason he never left Wei Wuxian's side after his resurrection.

Had he not been like this, his relationship with Wei Wuxian would have been very different.

Do you think if Xue Yang was taken in by the Jiang Clan and was treated the way Wei Wuxian was, he would have reacted to the massacre at Jiang Clan the way Wei Wuxian did?

Canonically, Xue Yang's life experiences have affected him in such a way that he in my opinion lives on a completely different mental plane.

I have seen some people say that Xue Yang and Wei Wuxian are similar and if Xue Yang was adopted by the Jiang Clan he would turn out to be like Wei Wuxian.

I don't know what to think of this.

Xue Yang has the "my pinky finger=lives of an entire clan" mindset and Wei Wuxian takes in an entire struggling clan to live with him.

Wei Wuxian sacrifices his golden core for Jiang Cheng, the most important thing for a cultivator because he was shown kindness by the Jiang Clan and thinks he owes them his life. He eventually resorts to ghost cultivation to save himself when he's thrown in the Burial Mounds.

Xue Yang makes use of the person who showed him kindness, Xiao Xingchen by taking advantage of his blindness to make him kill his own people. He's been practicing demonic cultivation since the very beginning.

Xue Yang and Wei Wuxian operate on a fundamentally different moral compass.

I wonder if Xue Yang was shown kindness as a child, would he turn out to be better and not be trapped in the headspace that he is trapped in?

Xue Yang is capable of feeling regret, he did when he realised Xiao Xingchen killed himself because of him and was ready to do anything to bring him back to life. But was it because he felt guilty for doing whatever he did to him or was it because he could no longer use him?

If his attempt to resurrect Xiao Xingchen succeeded would he start behaving differently or would he remain trapped in his twisted mindset and harm him again because he's unable to understand what he feels for him?

Hypothetically, if he was taken in by Jiang Clan and was mentally stable I still don't think he would go to the lengths to which Wei Wuxian did to help people and be there for them.

Mdzs truly is a story that gets you to think a lot about the characters and parallels.

Xue Yang's character is very complex and hard to understand but he's one of my favourites. He has his reasons for doing what he did and they cannot be directly compared to Wei Wuxian's circumstances and the way he reacted to everything which btw is a completely different discussion on its own.

But anyway,

My question is if the entire story was the same; Madam Yu's treatment, Jiang Yanli's treatment and the bond between the siblings, would he do what Wei Wuxian did after the massacre at Jiang Clan?

What I'm basically asking is,

If Wei Wuxian was replaced by Xue Yang and all the events that happened were the exact same, what choices do you guys think he would make?

Was the first time Wei Wuxian used resentful energy when he was trapped in Mount Buzhou with Lan Wangji?

I'm a live action watcher and I haven't read the novel so I don't really know if it's explained there so forgive me if I'm asking a question that's very dumb.

But in the live action when Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are trapped in the cave and are fighting with the tortoise-snake creature (forgive me I can't remember the name) he has the sword in his hand and black smoke-like things are emitting from his body and the sword as well.

So my question is can this be considered the first time he used resentful energy? At least in the live action?

My friend's ex-boyfriend sent me a follow request on Instagram. Should I tell her?

My friend's ex-boyfriend sent me a follow request on Instagram. Should I tell her?

I (17F) have a friend (16F) and her boyfriend (or maybe ex boyfriend) sent me a follow request on instagram from his spam account. Do I tell her about this? I have never met this man before.

I don't talk with her that regularly but she does regard me as her best friend. The last time she talked to me about him was like 2-3 months ago when they were going through a rough patch in their relationship.

I don't know the current status of their relationship but judging by the fact that she no longer follows him on Instagram I think they are not together anymore.

Either way, I won't accept it but I just want advice on whether or not I should tell her. Will it come off weird if I do?

AITAH for wanting to go back to being friends? I(26F) have been in a relationship with my boyfriend (27M) for 3 years and after all that's happening I think it's best if we do this.

I have known my boyfriend for 8 years in total. We met when I was 18 and he was 19 in college. He was my best friend for 5 years before he became my boyfriend.

Out of all the people I've known and all the friends I've had till date, he's the only person who actually knows everything about me and the only person who truly understands me.

I was the one who made the first move. I asked him to be my boyfriend 3 years ago because i thought it would be perfect.

He never actually wanted to be in a proper committed relationship though. He told me how i shouldn't expect complete loyalty from him and he's "not the kind to settle down" in his words.

But he did assure me that he'd try his best to make it work. At the time i didn't really think much of it since in my mind the connection between us felt so true and strong. But oml i was so wrong.

The first one year or so of our relationship was the best time, everything was perfect. But then the problems started. He started talking too much to a girl, let's call her Nina. He met her at his work place.

I've met her like 2 times, a year ago and I can literally see it. She has feelings for him. I don't know if he's acting oblivious or he's genuinely clueless.

I don't mean to be the girlfriend who controls everything her boyfriend does but i felt so irritated by her.

Whenever i brought the subject up, he would defend himself and say "it's nothing" and that "we're just friends".

He also reassured me many times that i don't have to worry about her but I just can't believe him.

I too have guy friends, but I don't stay on calls with them for 2-3 hours talking about "work" like he does with Nina.

On top of this the communication issue, every time we have arguments, he just shuts off. Like complete emotional numbness. I have to guess and talk to him.

While when I do the same thing, like the emotional shut off, he's irritated and angry but is always able to tell how i feel. We had a huge argument about all of this, especially about him talking to Nina 2 weeks ago.

Idk why but ever since I knew about Nina I started unconsciously comparing myself to her. I have never ever been the kind to compare myself to another girl.

Last time i did this was probably when I was in high school. But because of him I did for the very first time in a long time.

Yesterday I just lost it. We were out eating when he got a call from her. I was already having a shitty day and then seeing her name on his phone just ruined my mood.

He did immediately tell her he was with me and cut the call but I was not having it. We had another argument about this yesterday.

Idek what to do. I can't just tell him to cut her off.

The last year has been so mentally exhausting and heavy. Because of other things too yes, but also because of our relationship and its problems.

I can't help but think that things were better when we were just friends and just went on and talked about anything and everything so freely.

It's still like this between us, but our relationship problems are getting in the way of us and the bond we had before all this even happened.

I don't want to lose him and I don't want to hurt him. I love him, but it's just that I can't do this anymore.

He's an amazing friend, but not the best boyfriend. I've considered breaking up and going back to being friends.

But it's also his birthday in 3 weeks, i don't want to ruin it for him.

I'm just so confused and have no idea what to do. I cannot do this relationship anymore mentally but I also don't want to lose him as a friend.

AITAH for wanting this?

(I couldn't repost from the subreddit i originally posted so I made a separate post here)

How do I (17F) make this guy leave me alone?

I am a 17 year old female and this post is about a guy from my class. The very first time I saw this man was when I was 15. We were and still are in the same class. The first time we saw each other he smiled looking at me for no reason but I didn't smile back since I didn't even know him. From that day till today, this guy keeps looking at me as if I'm some other worldly creature. There is so much lust in his gaze it's unbearable. In the beginning i thought he liked me, so I went up to him like two times maybe to start a conversation, but both times he tried to embarrass me for trying to start a conversation with him. During that conversation he looked at his friend and gave him a look. Idek how to describe it, it was like he tried to make me look like a fan. So after that I stopped paying attention to him but the staring did not stop. It just kept getting worse.

He will intentionally look at me, very intensely. It's like he's genuinely trying to look through my soul. It's so very creepy and I don't understand what to do about it. If I'm being completely honest, all the guys from that class I'm currently in give me extremely weird and hyper sexual vibes. It's like they cannot handle female interaction at all but are very lustful. I know everyone is weird during teenage years and you can't expect perfect social conduct but there needs to be some amount of decency.

He has also attempted to send me a request on instagram through many fake accounts on multiple occasions. (I have his main account blocked already) I've lost count of the fake accounts. I have blocked many of them.

I do not understand what to do. I have also heard from some of my girl friends that all these guys make sexual remarks and unnecessary idiotic comments about the girls in our class. It's just disgusting.

I have told some of my close girl friends(all from the same class) about this situation, they feel the same way about this guy. But I understand they can't do anything except hear me out and be there for me.

I told two close male friends(not from this class) about this entire situation, the first friend, M19 was quite laid back about the situation and said that i shouldn't really worry nothing will happen. I have a private Instragram and he probably cannot see anything on there. He told me to just ignore the entire thing in all. The second friend, M17 was concerned and told me to maybe try telling a professor about the matter if it was making me very uncomfortable.

If I'm being completely honest I am worried. I just don't like the attention from him. It's very creepy and makes me uneasy. Can I get some advice on this matter?
