I’m fairly new to golf and bought a set of Stix for “new golfers”. They recommend graphite shafts since I didn’t know my swing speed. Finally got fitted and they immediately switched me to Stiff/X-stiff 120g.

Also suggested Sim 2 Max irons ($650). I’m looking to become better than a casual golfer. I fully understand the game takes ALOT of time, and am prepared for that.

But should I jump straight to the “players distance” tier ($1100+) and focus on getting better with more workable clubs? Or should I stick to Game improvement and buy better clubs once I’m better?

Or can you get really good with GI irons? Seems like a pay now or pay later kinda situation..
