I went to an echo dealer and they said they have discontinued selling that coil because its so old. Ive looked on amazon ebay and marketplace. Its prolly gonna take a while until i find a parts chainsaw that is a 550 evl so im thinking to mabye speed up time, this is a shot in the dark but, does anybody have an echo 550 evl coil, or echo 510 evl coil (they are the same coil) that i could have. Just throw me a price and ill decide if its worth it for me.
Wasnt sure how to title this but i want to eventually have my own machine shop rebuilding engines.
Im 22 and im not anywhere close to having my own shop yet but that is my eventual goal i wanna work towards. Tell me if this plan that i have is flawed
I have started to work on lawnmowers and restoring them for a few months now because i tried to do a landscaping business with my friend and it failed (spoiler: partnerships dont work). But i learned how to work on our equipment and i found it to be quite interesting, i really found my enjoyment in machining by fabricating parts onto walk behind mowers and other pieces of equipment.
I want to slowly build up my knowledge and confidence on working on small engines over the course of a few years. I want to get a small lathe and mill to do small engine rebuilds. While i am learning how to work on these engines and basic machining i would also be flipping the engines for a profit.
After a few years of doing this i would build my own shop on my own property and slowly build up to having the equipment to do car engine rebuilds.
I would have to do all of this work on the side until i am confident enough, with enough equipment to do it full time
So ive been wanting to get into flipping small engines because i have a decent bit of knowledge on how to work on them and i enjoy working on them. I have absolutely no knowledge though on how to approach flipping small engines. What should i look for, is there a general rule of thumb on things to look for. I know i dont want to get something that is gonna be a lot of work and expensive to repair and i wouldnt make money on it. At the same time though, the things that have big problems are also the cheapest. How do i factor in how much id be making.
Im sure all these questions are gonna be something i learn with experience but are there any pointers yall could give me just as general rules of thumb.
Im having a hard time finding this coil online, anybody have ideas on a coil that is similar enough to this to where i can fabricate it on without too much machining?
Old echo chainsaw, rebuilt top end, great compression, all i need to do is get a new coil. The guy said he couldnt find one but i can try to get another one to fit ill just have to fabricate it in, what do yall think.
Edit: i changed the description i thought it was a husqvarna
