Monster Monday - Centitaur
Barely a breath passed between the party as they pressed their backs together, their eyes attempting to plumb the darkness. From all around them, echoing across the cavernous walls was the sound of carapace tapping against stone. It moved with with a slow, almost steady pace as though it knew it could take its time. And it was right. The barbarian and druid both swayed and staggered, their veins blackened even as their skin blanched. As the former tightened his slipping grip on his axe, the sorceress lifted her mystic light, trying to find the creeping creature. All she managed to catch was the oversized, chitinous tail of an immense centipede as it crawled behind a pillar as a dry, all-too human chuckle echoed out from it.
Versed in violence and veneration, this violent villain violates victims with verisimilar verses and ventilations, varying them into vectors of venom.
This week is an original monster that started almost entirely as a funny pun but it is one that I am quite happy with design-wise! It's tied to the lore of my own setting a bit, but I think it's still pretty usable for others. You can see more on its design and details over on the free Patreon post or in the YT video. I'd appreciate you checking them out, but in either case, have a monstrous Monday!
