Fixed or deployable running boards?

Considering installing aftermarket fixed (about $400) or deployable running boards(about $1000) for my 2026 RRS. Am somewhat leaning towards fixed, as I've heard there may be some warranty issues with deployable as they need to be plugged into the RRS control module. Also somewhat concerned about lifespan with deployable, although do appreciate the flush appearance. Anyone installed either one and pleased with the result?

23" wheels to 22" or 21"?

I know I'm going against the trend, but looking to improve ride comfort for my '26 RRS ATB PHEV with 23 inch wheels. Anyone ever downsize or have good experience with 22s or 21 inch wheels on a Range Rover Sport? I'm assuming 22s would be a sweet spot between size and comfort, but would 21s look too base stock and not be wide enough for this PHEV?

RRS ATB First Impressions

Took delivery this past Friday of my '26 Range Rover Sport Autobiography, and drove 1000 miles the next three days to home. Just thought I would give a few thoughts about my first impressions, having driven most luxury SUVs, including most recently EV SUVs. The positives I think are very well-known, and certainly the reason why I chose this vehicle. On the problematic side, here are some surprising things I encountered:

  1. Lane centering is way too aggressive, unpredictable, and felt actually unsafe, so this I recently turned off. Not sure why Range Rover engineers would not design this to be more refined.

  2. Adaptive cruise control is extremely rough, with engine power switching on and off in a rather abrupt manner, certainly not as refined as some of the other luxury SUVs. Loss of lane centering while on ACC was very scary, as sometimes it would abruptly lose the left-hand lane marker and veer immediately to the left. This is probably the poorest ACC that I've ever ever driven, and again why would RR engineers let this be released or not improve it.

  3. The ride quality on my 23 inch wheels, although generally satisfactory and looking great, could use some improvement (I was warned, but this was the only spec that checked most other boxes). I'll need to downsize to 22s soon (If anyone near central Florida would like to make a straight trade please DM me lol).

  4. Although touted as extremely refined road manners and suspension, I was surprised to feel that it was not as planted or more confident on the road as I had anticipated. I understand it is a taller vehicle the most luxury SUV is, especially EVs.

Perhaps some of these impressions will change as I learn more about the vehicle and/or software updates in the future that may be helpful.

New RRS

Purchased this Range Rover sport autobiography today. Was able to get the promotional 0.9% APR, as that is expected to expire on Monday.

First thing, of course is tinting the windows. Not sure about the driving yet, but might want to downsize to 22 inch wheels. I would make a straight trade across with someone who wanted 23 inch wheels. If we did so, would we have to do any recalibration?

RRS new 1% APR or CPO 6%?

Not sure which would be the better deal, 2024 used CPO about 15K miles $95K 6% APR or new $125K at 0.9% APR. Would the interest savings ($K15K) make up for the depreciation?

Almost luxury?

Going on my first test ride tomorrow, coming from a Mercedes EQE SUV. Will be disappointed in the luxury, as I was considering a Range Rover Sport hybrid. Any question I should ask during my test drive and do these lease well?

Amazed, first time with Princess

Having traveled on Carnival and MSC, just have to say completely amazed by the service, quality of food, decor, and professionalism. Traveling now on Regal Princess in the Caribbean. Is this really the best cruise line? Is there a chance I might disappointed on another Princess ship or is it consistent across the line?

Deep Garnet interior, get again?

For those who have the Deep Garnet interior, would you get again? Considering a RRS with this interior, looks burgundy to me rather than a dark red, and wondering if the look grows on you or not.

Been on a stall for about four weeks, and I know I'm supposed to be patient. But after losing consistently for the three months prior, getting kind of disappointed.

Wondering if it's the brand that I'm using, recently switched from ProRX to BPI, so wondering if anyone has a similar experience or has a brand they found that consistently works the best.

Unlike others communities, never had so many posts removed on this sub. It seems like only pictures of someone's new RR are the majority of posts here, rather than any discussions. I think I need to go back and look at several posts to get an idea how to better follow the sub rules.

Looks like much less expensive to buy rather leasing a Range Rover, but I'm not sure my mathing is correct.

Example: 2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography - MSRP $120,000 + 7% sales tax, all fees rolled in lease (from Leasehackr rate calculator with 50% residual and .0021 MF (5%APR) = $2290 (0DAS, 0down).

Lease twice same model = $23K x 72 months = $166K

Lease for 3 years, buy at end = $83K lease cost, $64K residual cost = $147K - $25K estimated trade value (2021 HSE) = $122K

Finance = 72 months 5% APR + 7% tax = $21K x 72 + tax and fees = $150K - trade  $25K = $125K

Buy 120K +$8K tax  = $128K - trade  $25K = $103K

*Summary total cost:

Lease x2 = $166K

Finance = $125K

Lease x1 buy at end = $122k

Buy = $103K

So looks like for most, lease once then buy is the best option for RR, although this estimate may be somewhat low and finance would be the best option other than buy outright.

Other option = Finance 2 year old $95K CPO, keep 4 years then trade = $120K - $25K trade = $95K

*(These are rough estimate, not including incentives, rebates, additional taxes/fees, possible positive equity on lease trade, etc)

Tried to configure a sport autobiography today, and it looks like for 2027 no PHEV option, only for the dynamic SE. Hopefully Range Rover is getting ready for full electric, so I assume the market for older PHEV Autobiography will be pretty good.
