Porch goose!

I finally joined the porch goose club! For context my boyfriend finally moved onto the property I own last year and he hates decorating the lawn for holidays (says it’s a waste of money) so I compromised and told him I’m going to buy a porch goose and decorate that so he isn’t stuck putting stuff up every few weeks during the holidays 🤣 he agreed!

I went the pink route to match my kitchen decorations since my front door leads to my kitchen, but this is her before and after paint! She was in the Walmart garden section for 69.99$! I originally wanted the $20 one but decided to try my luck and see if they had the concrete one and they did!! I’m sooo excited

Update with my kuromi kindle case

I posted about 2 weeks ago with my new kindle (I finally joined the party) and in the comments I said I would update when my kuromi themed kindle was finished as I was waiting for the supplies and my first case was while I finished ordering stuff — here she is :) kuromi is by far my favorite sanrio character. I am giddy (despite how much all this cost me)

Hey everyone! Like the title states, this is my first time trying for a baby with my boyfriend of 3 years. He originally wanted to wait a bit longer but I have severe arthritis, and I simply won’t put my body through child birth once I pass a certain age. Being that he wants 2 kids, I told him to start trying now as there’s no guarantee I’ll even end up pregnant — and then in 2/3 years we can shoot for the 2nd one and I’ll be within my cut off preference of age still.

Is there any advice anyone can offer when trying for a baby? I have ovulation tests, and pregnancy tests — but the ovulation tests confuse me quite a bit, I still use them, but I don’t really see the point of them if that makes sense. But, if someone could explain how they’re used maybe I’ll have a better understanding.

This month though, my period did what it does once a year and changed cycles so I’ve been thrown for a loop lol. Now I’m trying to track my ovulation all over again. I finished my cycle Monday into Tuesday and I used an ovulation strip Saturday and it showed 2 lines, then today it showed 1 - so I’m assuming I either wasn’t ovulating yet and it was a false positive, or I’m done ovulation and the hike went down.

This is very confusing lmao there’s like a whole science. I’ve been opened to a whole new world I didn’t really know existed

Is anyone else having issues with the B2G1? I tried to apply some points, but every time I apply points and go to check out, it says it can’t process with my points and then it changes the price 😠

Hello! I posted a few days asking about roosters and I gave 2 of my confirmed Roos away, and while rounding them up I noticed one of my sapphire gems had a bald neck on the back from clear pecking of her feathers so I removed her and put her in a brooder next to the one she was originally in. She’s about 5 weeks old

How do I correct this behavior? I set up a camera to watch the chicks and I’m hoping the pecking happened due to the rooster ratio, but I imagine boredom might be a factor. I’m going to keep an eye and see which chick is doing the pecking and then I’m going to remove that chick, but I’m unsure what to do with the behavior now.

What toys can I provide to help boredom in a brooder? They’re almost the age to put them in a coop which worries me as I don’t want them to hurt the chick.

I’m writing this because my mom got diagnosed August of 2023, right before her birthday, August 23, and she passed away Mother’s Day morning of 2024, May 12. 9:08 am, I called ToD for the doctor. My grandma and I asked her to make it to one more Mother’s Day, and she did exactly that.

I lost my dad in 2019, May 5th, the anniversary was 7 days before my mom passed away. Diagnosed in August, 2018. 2 days after his birthday, on August 24, the same day as my older sisters funeral. It was a dejavú moment. Different cancer, same timeline, same pain.

I’m older now, just turned 27, the pain is still real, and I still look for them in everything i do. I just finished a presentation on cholangiocarcinoma for college. I lost my sister to suicide, going to school for crisis counseling and psychology. If I could study and become an oncologist I would, but I had to stop working as emt because I transported a hospice patient. Cholangiocarcinoma. 4 months after my mom died, first time I’d ever seen that name on paperwork that was not my mom’s paperwork in all my years of Ems. I still remember that patient, his face, his name, his apartment, his wife’s hopeful eyes. I remember his face, the way his urine looked like my moms the day before she died. I quit the same week and never went back, after 5 years of working Ems. Countless deaths, cpr, hospice, cancer — this name, cholangiocarcinoma, broke something inside of me I can’t seem to fix.

If you’re fighting this horrible disease, my heart is with you, and I pray you beat every second of your battle. I hope whatever God you pray to blesses you in every way possible, and that you live every bit of life you deserve.

Fuck cancer.
