In contract by Caligula's Horse is amazing

I love listening to the whole thing in full. Idk but every song brings so many emotions inside me (specially the song Graves). Songwriting is peak, and lyrical themes feel well structured and interesting. Any other fans of this classic?

I have music "depression". Is that even a thing??

So, I want to preface by saying that music is one of the most important aspects of my life. I listen to it every day, at work, working out, at home, when I'm baked, etc. I even play guitar (recreationally). However, these past few days the music I listen to has not been hitting at all. Like, I get no emotion while listening some of my favorite tracks. Absolutely out of character for someone like me (I've cried multiple times listening to songs). For reference, these past few days I've been listening almost exclusively to prog metal/death metal. And yes, I have tried venturing out these past few weeks but just, nothing hits :c like songs can be catchy and stuff but, I feel nothing....

I cannot bring myself to love Ne Obliviscaris :c

I might get a lot of hate for this but, I see them mentioned time and time again in this sub and I have REALLY tried to connect with their music, but most of it does nothing for me. I can maybe listen to one song at a time and enjoy it playing in the background but, more than that is just too much lol. Quite interesting given that, on paper, they should be one of my favorite bands: death metal, influenced by Opeth, clean vocals, a violin????? sing me up! But when it comes to actually listening to them, idk. I feel like a lot of songs drag for wayy to long and the melodies don't hit me as hard as, for instance, the forementioned Opeth. Such a shame :c just wanted to vent rq

When it first dropped, I was like "It's okay I guess". However, every time I listen to it, it gets better and better. I'm really digging all the songs, especially the closing track and atonement denied. What do you guys think about it?

In my case, two that come to mind are Language by the contortionist and Portal of I. I'm not sure why but I've tried listening to them multiple times but man, they just don't click for me. Not sure if the vocal melodies, or how sustained some of the melodies are, or the production.... I can't get into them :c
