How often do you all draw FBDs?

How often do you all actually draw Free Body Diagrams on the paper?

It takes a lot of time, but for JEE advanced questions I find them must. I always get complex mechanics/electrostatics questions wrong without FBDs. But like I said it wastes a lot of time.

So yeah, do you stop drawing FBDs eventually with practice?

Does your year of birth affect your commercial success?

When you ask people what it takes to be a popstar, a really successful musician, a lot of the times their answer contains luck. And this is of course true for any field not just music. Luck and your looks, your height, your natural voice, things like your race, your sexual orientation.

Does somebody's year of birth factor into their success too?

I checked the birth years of famous musicians and popstars and there's a pattern that I found:

  1. Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand, Carole King, Lou Reed, Jimi Hendrix were all born in 1942.
  2. Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Ringo Star, Nancy Sinatra, Frank Zappa were all born in 1940 or 41.
  3. Prince, Madonna, and Michael Jackson were all born in a span of three months in 1958 too.
  4. Mariah Carry and Celine Dion were born in 1969 and 1968 respectively. Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez were born in 1969 too.
  5. Beyonce, Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake were all born in 1981.

Why do so many famous musicians share a common birth year? Here's my guess: Competition. The music industry, like any other industry, caters to the demand of its consumers. Take the example of the 80s. Once Madonna, MJ and Prince respectively became the leaders of their particular styles of music, there wasn't really space for anybody else to have their kind of success. Of course Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson did have massive successes too but Whitney was a once in a generation vocal powerhouse (and the daughter of Cissy Houston), and you can't deny that being MJ's sister did give Janet Jackson a foot in the door.

Of course this all could just be a massive coincidence too, but following the math of probabilities, shouldn'tbirth years of popstars, if they didn't matter at all, more spread out?

What were some instances where Miriam was arrogant?

Can anyone give some instances where Miriam acted in an arrogant manner?

I have read a lot of posts here about how she was self absorbed and arrogant, but I feel a little differently. Sure she is absolutely very confident in her abilities to be funny, but I feel like that's important when there are people paying money to come see you be funny.

I think that I too can come across as quite arrogant and self absorbed at times, and so maybe I can compare those instances and scenes to the way I act, and do some introspection. And change.

What to do after really awkward encounters?

A teacher thanked me for a gift I gave them. And I without a thought, replied "No, thank you sir for teaching us with passion and everything". I know that sounded dumb. Really dumb.

And this of course sent me cringing and spiralling out of control. I felt so embarrassed and was unable to process any information, which then of course led to a few more awkward encounters and now all I can think of an hour later is about them.

So what should I do to stop this from happening? Is this really supposed to happen? What do normal people do after awkward encounters?

Do other people have to think to use their social skills?

"What to do in a social situation? How to respond to subtle unspoken cues?" Do other people have to think about these things, or is it just me?

For example, when somebody is feeling a little uncomfortable, to notice that I'll have to look for social cues that tell me that he/she is uncomfortable. Then I'll have to think how to respond. It doesn't come very naturally to me. I have to put in some amount of active thinking. Does this mean that I'm autistic or something like that? Or am I just socially inept?

Why don't the normal reaction and the reaction due to Newton's third law add up?

When you push an object, the object pushes you too. And it also exerts upon you a normal reaction due to its intermolecular forces, right?

Then why don't these forces add up? Why don't we get a force of 2F in return when we apply a force of F on a rigid object?

Why does accelerating upward increase effective gravity?

Shouldn't it decrease or negate the effects of gravity? Gravity pulls you down, so you go up. Then why does effective gravity increase when riding in an elevator?

Also, why do people experience weightlessness in free fall? Isn't gravity still acting on them?

Is there an external evaluator for Maths and English also?

For the 20 internal marks, is there an external evaluator appointed by board in English and Maths? Or are the marks given by the teachers only.

Do most people spend their life most of their life working? Why?

Isn't working basically surviving? So most people spend their life trying to survive? I thought the purpose of living was to have fun and enjoy things.

So like, why do people work? To live. And why do people live? To work. That feels like circular reasoning and doesn't make any sense to me.

I have seen people in under-developed nations say that they were hard till 2 pm and then sleep for like an hour and then work hard till 11 pm and then sleep for 6-7 hours. Why would anyone choose to live like that? Life feels so useless to me.
