1/3 NLH OOP w/over pair

How often are you calling on a monotone board with an overpair no/FD?

UTG straddle was on. 100BB effective.

Hero opens $20 with red QQ.

3-callers.

Flop JcTc7c

Hero checks

MP who has played very few hands B$40.

Folds back to the hero. MP must be pretty strong betting into players who haven't had a chance to act.

Every folding Jacks here?

Hero has been card dead for a couple of hours and unable to connect with his good hands.

We're 33BB effective.

Hero opens UTG with black Jacks to $10

Two callers in the field and CO 3B to $30.

CO is a brand new player. No reads. Bought in forac $500.

The CO should be cognizant of my UTG so are you ever just running it here?

Opinions on this routine for someone over 50?

Starting a new job which is going to force me to reduce my routine down to 3x/week. What are your thoughts on this type of routine?

US viewership after Apple paywall. Is anyone surprised?

As an American I was annoyed that Apple won the broadcast rights for F1 in the USA simply because I was not going to buy yet another subscription. Well it seems that I was not the only one.

Edit: Some are confused by the graph. The graph shows the YoY change in viewership for every race to date.

Hand selection with 2 maniacs. 1/3 NLH

I've always struggled with this over my less than illustrious career. On my immediate right was a player (V1) who was trying to spin up a stack via $100 BI and at the opposite end was another aggressive player (V2) sitting 150+BB deep who was not afraid to put people to the test with large bets. Do you adjust your ranges in these scenarios? Sitting on around 100BB I found myself folding hands like AJ suited and 99 to UTG raises from V1 because I didn't want to get in a situation where V2 3B and V1 decides to YOLO his above avg hand.

As I'm typing this I realized I could just call PF and make my decision to call based on whether the all-in response from V1 is/is not a re-raise which which would force V2 could only call?

Thoughts?

Running it twice and EV

I've heard and read that running it twice doesn't change your EV but I'm confused.

If EV is calculated using your probability of winning/losing and the probability of winning/losing changes as more cards are exposed across multiple boards then running it more than once does change your EV across each "run" individually.

How off am I?

Passive 1/3 wit Aces. Did I lose value out of fear?

How many streets of value would you go for?

Hero ($200) in the CO.

3 limpers up front.

Hero raises $20 and gets one caller from EP. EP is an older player who has been chipping up. Growing his stack from $200 to $500+. Never raised pre and is just out-handing people.

Flop Q34 (rainbow)

EP B$15

Hero raises $50.

EP calls

Turn Jx

EP checks.

Hero checks

River Tx

Check check.

So I check it down because the then and river smash EP limp calling range yet I occasionally see people who win huge lots wit Aces on this kind of boards. Would you go for 2-3 streets on this run out?

PLO and playing OOP with AAxx

$400 effective. 1/2 PLO w$2 open.

BTN/s $4.

Blinds and one field player call.

Hero raises pot with AAKTds (black).

BTN and all the limpers call.

Flop 783 2-diamonds.

Checks to the hero who also checks. Having no FD do you plo players intend on checking to check call or do you just bail on this hand to fight another day?

BTN B$75 and everyone folds including the hero. I feel like calling is just awful because this board just doesn't match my actual or perceived range.

Is the mis-reg just an OMC in larve stage?

Talking poker with the wife and we came to the conclusion that the typical miserable reg who's watching movies or reading at the table for 8hrs a day, making $500-$1k a session vis a cooler or fish is really just a larve stage OMC. The difference is that an OMC type of player is just burning time because that's what they have the most of rather than trying to earn a living at the game.

Did I get bluffed ?

I have some history with the villain as I've won a few pots off him with better hands however the pots themselves have been small (~$30) . Something to note. In all these hands I've checked the river with TPTK to call because I didn't think he would call a better with second pair.

This is 1/3 and hero is effective stack at $300.

Villain UTG2 opens $10, folds to Hero in BB who calls with KQo.

Flop: JK6

Checks through.

Turn:7x

Hero B$15

Villain calls

River 8x

Hero B$15

Villain raises to $50

Pot is $115 and $50 to call.

Go for value on river? 1/3

We're $250 effective.

V opens $15 from MP. He's been kinda quiet after doubling his stack to around $900 via a cooler.

Hero on BTN calls with KJ hearts. We're heads up.

Flop: QJ9 2-diamonds.

Hero calls $20

Pot: $70

Turn: Jx

Heros calls $30.

River 8d completing the front door flush.

Villain checks.

1/2 PLO. Bail on flop when multi way?

Hero $450 effective. AAcKc4 (single suited) on CO

V1 (BTN): Big stack and annoyed that I turned a Q-high flush with my double suited hand to beat him in the previous hand.

V2 (BB): Is into check calling pot sized bets. He has lost or chopped a couple of all-in pots. European.

CO Hero opens for $10

V1 BTN 3B $20

V2 BB calls

Hero calls: I think this is standard with my medium strength "one way" AA.

Pot $60

Flop 7dJc8c

BB checks

Hero: Checks. Having no blockers (9,T) to the str8 I think checking is preferable here.

BTN bets pot ($60) and BB calls.

Pot is now $180.

I think this is an either/or spot for Hero. With a bet and a call I would think at least some clubs outs are in the hands of either villain.

I think all three options are on the table but my nitty self folded.

Turn Kd

BB c/c a pot sized bet.

River Qh

BB c/f to pot sized bet.

Listening to the little bird and low stakes tendencies.

Hero sitting on 125BB in BB.

MP opens $10, BTN, SB, Hero (JJ) call.

Pot:$40

Flop: 9TT (2-clubs).

Checks around.

Turn: J

SB check,

Hero B$25

MP calls

BTN clicks it to $50

SB folds,

Hero: BTN has at least T so I'm just calling here and perhaps the original raiser will spaz with a 3B. I'm thinking I'm never folding.

MP folds.

Pot $140

River Qc bringing in the front door flush (I block str8 flush)

Board 9TTQ

Hero checks and BTN B$125.

Okay my little bird thought, Whoa, that's a big bet for just Tx with the FD flush coming in. Is the 1/3 pool good enough to do this with AxTx, did they just hit QT? Do I just call? Will Reddit ever forgive me if I don't shove here?

Do you always listen to the little bird?

1/3. IP vs UTG in 3b pot.

Effective ~$400

UTG European on $800 stack opens $12

UTG+1 calls

Hero (KK black) 3B to $75.

UTG who's now irritated, gives a little speech about how tight the table it and calls.

UTG+1 folds.

Flip QJ8 3-heart

Checks through.

Hero knows he'll bet turn and river and I didn't want to bloat vs QQ or JJ.

Turn 6

UTG b$25

Hero calls.

River 6 hearts.

UTG B$25

Hero just calls with the 4th heart hitting.

With the speech play from villain pre flopnhow would you play this?

1/3 early vs early

Effective stacks $280

Villain UTG+1 is all over the place. He bets the same amounts with his bluffs and value. He just fires and it's the river where he splits his bluff and value sizes (bigger with value). He's talking about the rooms he plays at back home and the type of action the games have, etc.

Hero, has been card dead for over an hour. Just folding. The couple of hands I do raise result in snap folds. I assume the table views me as being super tight.

Hero UTG (AK diamonds).

Villain next to act snap calls and we take a flop heads up.

Flop QT3 no diamond.

Hero c/c a $20 bet. This seems standard having two overs.

Turn off suit K.

Hero checks

Villain stands up, asking how much I have left and bets $50.

Pot is now $120.

How would you proceed from here? His turn size seems small but I suspect he's choosing his sizing based on my then current stack size (~$250).

Ever folding here? 1/3 NL live.

$450 effective. Hero on BTN.

Beginning in MP $10, $25 3!, $50 4! (Villain).

Hero on BTN with AA 5! $200.

Folds to Villain who takes around 1-2 mins and calls. We have similar stacks. I don't have anything on villain other than he just lost to a royal with a Broadway str8 and topped off his stack by $200

Flop. KQJ

Villain shoves.

Ranges should be very narrow here and do you ever envision a scenario where the villain doesn't put you on AA,KK? A
