Is there a "gold standard" for what an MCM office/desk chair would look like?
Since I need a new home office chair, any road, I figured I'd add it to my slowly growing MCM home aesthetic.
But online searching brings up hundreds of incredibly disparate examples of what different people consider fitting.
Confusing DOT stamp on tire "NULLHP"
I'm looking at this set of used tires on FB Marketplace. I always look for the DOT mfg. date stamp on the sidewalls.
Screenshot of the pic in the ad; there is no 4-digit code, just the letters "NULLHP." I've never encountered this. Google does not know what it means and the seller claims to be clueless.
You can't see it well, but there is no additional stamping between this and the M+S mark.
Just curious if anyone knows.
Thanks.
I'm a rank amateur at any form of carpentry or woodworking.
The short version of this is I'm trying to cut baseboard trim without a miter box/miter saw.
I live in an apartment, but the landlord will pay me for and DIY work I do.
I installed LVP floors in my little bathroom, and now I'm at least attempting to trim in the baseboards.
I bought enough primed/painted wood trim to do the job.
I also bought a hand miter box with backsaw. I cannot justify the expense nor do I have the storage for a power miter saw.
I thought I was all set until I went to cut my first piece. The previous person who floored this room used an unuall high cove base. When I removed it, it left the wall in really bad shape.
Rather than trying my luck at skim coating drywall, I bought baseboard that was 5 in tall.
To my chagrin, my new clamping miter saw will only work on wood up to 4 inches tall or wide.
Any idea what I do now? I checked online for a larger capacity miter box, but for a decent one I might as well buy a cheap used tabletop miter saw.
How do I make bevel cuts, or frankly any cuts, in this trim without a miter box?
66 years of bathroom moisture and grime have them looking terrible. I've thrown every cleaner I can think of at them. The clear finish over the stain is about 50% gone.
Anything I can do to make them look new, short of fully stripping and refinishing them?
I'd appreciate any advice.
