Chronic masseter tension, only ever gets worse as the day goes on

I had an ear infection last year that left me with chronic masseter tension for whatever reason. Didn't have the words to describe the sensation so got fucked around by innumerable GPs, ENTs and Neurologists before I got an actual diagnosis.

It's been 8 months of hell (which I know is nothing compared to what a lot of people here have gone through) and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

Every morning I wake up, feel my ears click when I swallow, and the tension and tightening starting across my nose, knowing that it's just going to get worse and I'm guaranteed to feel crushing pressure round my jaw, nose and temples from 3-5PM onwards.

Had masseter/temporalis botox 22 days ago and it's done nothing but make it worse so far. Don't know how I can go on like this, it's destroyed my life. Just a rant, that's it really.

Trying to find a specific soundtrack remix

Hi all, I'm trying to find a specific remix of one of DS1's tracks on YouTube that I liked a lot, but for the life of me can't find now. I think it might have been the UNATCO theme, and sampled the "crooked bureaucrats"/"big words for a rookie" exchange between JC and Manderley. Any ideas?

19 days since temporalis and masseter botox for (non-TMD) chronic tension and no improvement

Hi all, just wondering if anybody has had a similar experience (and did post something similar 5 day ago, apologies for spam, I'm just a lottle desperate).

An ear infection last year left me with bilateral chronic masseter tension, which manifests as extreme spasming crushing sensations across my ears, nose, temples and forehead. It generally gets worse as the day goes on.

TMD was definitively ruled out by a maxillofacial surgeon (jaw palpation, open-and-close mouth MRI etc.).

I had temporalis and masseter botox 19 days ago and still have no symptomatic relief; if anything things are still slightly worse.

Is this a normal timescale for botox for my condition? From some googling it seems that botox for non-TMD non-clenching non-bruxism related chronic tension takes longer to have any effect.

I'm having an consultation with my maxillofacial surgeon this coming Friday- would that be too early to ask for a top up? Anything else that would be relevant to ask

Sorry for putting this in this sub but I thought it would be most relevant, despite not being TMD-related.

After months and months of bilateral chronic head crushing, often agonising pain, (set off by a unilateral ear infection, for whatever reason) I was finally diagnosed with chronic masseter tension.

An MRI excluded TMD; as such it just seems to be tension without any specific reason.

13 days ago I had bilateral masseter and temple botox; I know it's common for symptoms to get worse before they get better after botox but they have become, and stayed, fucking _worse_.

Has anybody had a similar experience? Is this still a normal timescale for botox to kick in for a case like mine?
