What are conservatives' opinions on corporate consolidation in the local television industry (as per a recent FCC vote)?
Earlier today (Thursday, August 6), the Federal Communication Commission voted to eliminate a 22-year regulation that limited broadcast conglomerates from owning stations that reach a total of more than 39% of the U.S. television audience.
Proponents of this vote (and of consolidation of TV stations in general) claim that consolidation expands bureau resources, provides vital resources to smaller stations and allows for scale to compete against Big Tech.
Critics of the vote (and consolidation in general) claim that consolidation reduces localism in local news, tampers with editorial independence of local stations and limits viewpoint diversity in local reportage.
What are your thoughts about the recent FCC vote, and about TV consolidation in general?

At what point does PUBG just remove the .45 ACP caliber?
With the 1911 and the R45 deleted, the only weapons that use .45 ACP are the Win94 and the Desert Eagle. Neither of these weapons are particularly powerful (unlike the other ammo exclusive guns, the AWM and P90), and aren't frequently used.
- The Win94 is one of the weakest long range rifles, and is often ditched the minute a marksman rifle or another bolt rifle is seen.
- Barely anyone uses the Desert Eagle because barely anyone carries secondaries.
My question is that if there are so few guns (and rarely used guns) that use .45, why not do to them what was done unto submachine guns some time ago: switch them over to 9mm and ditch .45 completely?

They're gonna declare martial law during the World Cup! I'm super cereal!
Doomers have predicted 50 out of the last 0 martial laws.
Just a quick reminder for the rest of Reddit after primaries:
No, the country is not collapsing because the guy you like didn't win.
No, democracy is not over because more people voted for someone you didn't.
Yes, we will still have elections in 2026, 2028 and beyond.
It's okay to be upset. It's okay to be sad. It's okay to show concern. However, your anger, sadness or concern doesn't mean that the world is ending.
Sometimes things don't go your way. That's just life. That may be disappointing to you, but you're better off acknowledging the loss and looking into what you can do in the present and in the future instead of harping on the past.
