Confused between LG 27GS75Q and MSI G274QPF E2 for 1440p Gaming & Editing. Need advice!

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a 27-inch 1440p monitor to use as an external display with my Asus TUF Gaming F17 laptop (FX706HC). I’m also planning a new PC build soon for gaming, streaming, and content creation, so I need this monitor to easily handle that transition.

After a lot of research, I’ve narrowed it down to two final choices:

LG 27GS75Q (180Hz, overclocks to 200Hz, 1ms GtG, 99% sRGB, 300 nits)

Amazon Link: https://amzn.in/d/0bePUQIs

MSI G274QPF E2 (180Hz, 1ms, 119% sRGB / 94% Adobe RGB, 400 nits, USB-C)

Amazon Link: https://amzn.in/d/0gkP2B8C

I'm genuinely stuck between the two. My main goal is to get a great visual experience with high FPS for gaming, but I also need accurate colors because I edit 2K videos in Premiere Pro as I am a small steamer and make videos on youtube.

My Use Case:

Story/AAA Games: God of War, Batman Arkham series, Detroit: Become Human.

Visually Heavy Gacha: Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai: Star Rail.

Casual FPS: Valorant, Marvel Rivals.

My priority order is basically: Display Quality > FPS > Colors > Aftersales Service.

The Big Dilemma (Colors vs. Aftersales):

I know the MSI has a much better color gamut and gets brighter, which is a big plus for my editing workflow and the visually heavy games I play. However, brand reputation and RMA experience are also major factors for me.

Here is the catch: An authorized LG service center is super close to where I live, making any potential RMA incredibly easy. The MSI service center, on the other hand, is quite far away. I really don't want to deal with the headache of dragging a huge monitor box across town if I lose the panel lottery or something breaks down the line.

Has anyone used either of these long-term? Is the extra color accuracy and brightness on the MSI really worth the risk of a far-away service center, or should I just play it safe with the LG since it has great motion handling and solid local warranty support?

Any insights or personal experiences would be super helpful.

Let me know if you need more info about my setup to give a recommendation!

Hey everyone, I need some solid monitor recommendations in the ₹15,000 to ₹16,000 range.

Here is my current situation. The screen on my Asus TUF F17 with i5-11400h & rtx 3050 laptop has started glitching out with horizontal lines, and my HDMI port is also dead.

Repairing the screen and motherboard will cost way too much. Instead, I am just going to bypass the broken screen and HDMI entirely by connecting my laptop's Thunderbolt port to a new monitor using a Type-C to DisplayPort cable.

I plan to build a proper high-end PC in about a year, so I am treating this monitor as an early investment for that future setup. Right now, I will just run it off my laptop.

My Use Case

I am a gamer and a streamer. I play a mix of competitive shooters like Valorant and Marvel Rivals Legends, AAA story games like God of War, and gacha titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. I also edit videos and photos for my YouTube channel, so color accuracy the more the better.

What I am looking for (Budget: ₹16,000 max)

Core Specs:

Size & Resolution: 27 inches at 1440p (2K)

Refresh Rate: 180Hz or higher

Response Time: 1ms

Adaptive Sync: Must support both AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync

Panel & Color

Panel Type: Fast IPS (I know Mini LED is tough at this budget, but throwing it out there just in case)

Color Gamut: sRGB rating of 98% to 100% and a DCI-P3 rating of 90% or higher

Color Depth: 10-bit panel (8-bit + FRC is fine) (Optional but highly preferred)

Calibration: Delta E < 2 rating (Optional but highly preferred)

Brightness: Minimum 400 to 500 nits

Ports & Ergonomics

Type-C Connectivity: A Type-C port with Power Delivery (PD)

PC Ports: DisplayPort 1.4 or higher to handle 1440p at 180Hz+

Stand & Mounting: Need height, tilt, and swivel adjustments (swivel is optional). Must support VESA mounting since I might put it on a monitor arm later.

Logistics & Support

Brand Reliability: I live in Mumbai, so the brand must have a strong and accessible aftersales service network here for easy RMAs or repairs.

Community Vetting: Looking for models with good quality control and minimal backlight bleed.

I know finding all of this, especially the Type-C PD and great ergonomics, under 16k is a tight squeeze. Let me know what the best options are right now or should I just get a 1080 high refresh rate monitor now and use it and later get a 2k display when I build a pc? But tbh, I don't think my parents would let me get one more monitor when I build a pc.

Anyway, do let me know if I need to compromise on anything specific. Thanks in advance!
