Happy to see she’s mainly Pyr. She does the paw. Oh you’re just watching the baseball game? SMACK! How’s that book coming along? Getting good? SMACK.

So far she’s easy to train like a GSD though. She’s a fun puppy.

Reading recommendation. Ross Macdonald’s Lew Archer PI series.

For my money they’re the best detective series novels ever written. 18 books starting with ‘The Moving Target’ in 1949 and ending with ‘The Blue Hammer’ in 1976.

Gothic SoCal noir featuring hard boiled staples like kidnapping, murders, blackmail etc. Where the books really stand out are in their portrayal of the psychological rot underpinning mid century America. Especially when it comes to familial secrets and trauma.

I think the CRheads would enjoy them. Two of the earlier lesser books were adapted for a very good and a meh Paul Newman film (Harper and The Drowning Pool.) I’d love to see his top later novels adapted for TV or the movies.

New Clemente documentary available to stream

I watched it last night and thought it was really well done. I know quite a bit about Clemente but there were details included that I was not familiar with. Makes me jealous of old timers like my dad who got to see him play in person.

It’s available to rent on Amazon and Apple for $5. Well worth it while there’s no baseball until Friday.

I’m sorry, Nolan isn’t surpassing this adaptation, he’s just not.

Yeah yeah practical effects, on location shooting and IMAX.

But does it have a Jack Russel Terrier shooting an arrow through axe heads while community theater actors give the performances of their lives?

1960 World Series Game 7 Ticket Stub my Grandma found as a bookmark

Back in the 90s my grandma bought a book for a quarter from a local flea market. Inside the book was a ticket stub for game 7 of the 1960 World Series.

So thanks to the yinzer in Gibsonia that gave up on reading ‘Dr Zhivago’ in 1961 and forgot about the ticket stub book maker.

JD Vance is the sacrificial offering for the Iran War loss/deal.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer fella! This is what you sold your soul for? Bye bye 2028 dreams or any future in politics you Ewok looking twat.

Pakistan says a deal has been reached between the US and Iran

If the deal is even for what half of what Iran stated last week it’ll be fun hearing Vance and Rubio try and spin it as anything other than a massive loss.

Probably end up as successful as the Browns trading for Deshaun Watson.

I’ve found what Tom’s American accent reminds me of

One of the most removed populations in the US. Tangier island has largely been populated by the same 5 families going back hundreds of years. They speak a dialect of old English.

I was there a few weeks ago and it’s like an Island of Tom’s John Adams impersonations. Fascinating but slightly terrifying.

Help me defeat the Bot Army

Lately I have noticed an influx of what appear to be Bot accounts. They'll repost a human user post from months or years ago which was popular. I remove what I notice but I can't recall everything.

Not sure what the eventual endgame of this Bot behavior is but I can only assume it is poor form and will eventually lead to the destruction of human civilization.

If you made or notice a popular post from months or years ago, and see it reposted, please let me know. With your help we can crush the Bot Army like the French at Agincourt.
