YubiKey 5C NFC with LastPass

I'm brand new to the security key / passkey space. I just bought a 2-pack of the YubiKey 5C NFC keys. I want one on my key ring, and the other in my safe. It make sense to me that I have to set up both keys separately for any account I want to protect.

Under LastPass' Account Settings > MultiFactor Options there is a section for Yubico OTP. However, it's description says:

"Use an older YubiKey device that only supports Yubico OTP. To use a newer YubiKey device, go to LastPass MFA (above). Pro tip: This is also where you set up YubiKey for LastPass mobile app verification."

When I use the LastPass MFA option, it walks through setting up a Primary and Backup method, but it registers both options on the first YubiKey (FIDO2 as Primary and a different protocol as Backup). If I walk through the process a second time for the second key, it overwrites the first key which no longer works to access LastPass.

Should I be using the old Yubico OTP option for Lastpass authentication instead?

Recommendations for a Xbox Elite 2 replacement for the PC

My controller is finally on it's last legs. I have the XBox Elite Series 2 controller and have loved it, but the rubber covers on the joysticks tore off and the rubber hand grips are coming unglued from the shell. I would like to look into the enthusiast market instead of buying another Microsoft device.

  • Budget: Under $100-$200
  • Country: United States
  • Platform Compatibility: PC
  • Features:
    • similar shape to the Xbox Elite 2. I have large hands and the bulky body feels better than the PS5's DualShock
    • Wired and Wireless options (USB-C, Bluetooth, RF) I like options
    • I thought the grip paddles were cool, but I've never used them. Most games already had all the controls mapped to the normal buttons, so I didn't find them useful. Maybe newer controllers have more options?
  • Games:
    • Dark Souls/Elden Ring
    • Skyrim
    • Stardew
    • Terraria
    • No Man's Sky
  • Controllers to compare to:
    • XBox controllers,

Aeron mesh is like a cheese grater but still love it.

I've had my Aeron chair for the last 2 years since I got a work-from-home job. I love the chair. It is extremely comfortable and robust for a 6'5", 270lb guy. I'm at my desk 10-12 hours a day.

However, I quickly discovered that the plastic mesh, while comfortable, is very damaging to clothing. I started noticing the seat of my pants started thinning at an alarming rate; especially soft fabrics like sweatpants. On the supports underneath the chair, I found a half-inch of fabric lint that had grated off my pants. A blanket doesn't work well since I shift in my seat quite a bit and it bunches up quickly and slides off. As an alternative solution, I brought out my waterproof car seat cover (meant for sweaty gym car rides). It has rubber dots on the underside so it doesn't slide on vinyl car seats. It worked for several months, but the seat mesh shaved all those dots off and it started bunching as well.

I'm considering buying some sturdy fabric and making a cover for the seat. I've seen some online but they are usually cheap spandex, flannel, or fleece, which won't hold up long-term.

Has anyone experience this and found a good upholstery fabric as a solution? Does anyone have a pattern they would like to share?

Western U.S. Backpacking for an Illinoisan

I've done extensive tent camping all my life. Mostly within the Midwest, but I have a desire to do more involved adventuring. The farthest west I've been was to visit a friend in Boulder Co, and spent a day hiking up into Rocky Mountain National Park. I recently caught the backpacking bug and am looking to plan an adventure sometime in the next 12 months out West.

As usual, I have delusions of grandeur, and picture myself hiking the Grand Canyon or Mt. Olympic, but need to be realistic about my capabilities and expectations.

I'm looking for advice and recommendations for a intermediate backpacking trips with great scenery. I know that is subjective, but I'm picturing things like orange-colored slot canyons in the south or alpine lakes in the north.

Also, I haven't been able to find any way to meet people with similar goals. All the "backpacking and hiking" groups in Illinois are directed at local day-trips or campground camping. Anyone know of a good resource to meet likeminded people?

Questions about fridge organization with Cambro

I'm trying to find a storage system for my fridge. Years ago I worked for a catering company and the kitchen had shelves upon shelves of stackable plastic and steel food containers. I did a bit of research and often see "Cambro" as the plastic option and Steam Table or Hotel Pans as the Stainless Steel option.

Has anyone outfitted their home kitchen with these pans? I love the idea that the different sizes fit into each other. Can the plastic and steel pans nest inside each other or at least stack on top of each other securely?

Rod and Reel sweet spot?

I'm looking for a BIFL-quality rod and reel. Where is the point of diminishing returns regarding price vs. quality? I posted last month asking for recommendations on a $150 setup. Several members provided helpful advice for gear in that range, and I appreciate the support, but I've decided I want to invest in a proper setup. I had never really looked at the price of high quality gear and realized that there is probably a higher threshold. I don't really know how to begin doing research myself so I'm hoping people can provide more insight.
Thanks!
