So far I’ve done Total Chaos upper and lower control arms with rear links, DR KDSS correction kits with Fox Factory Race 2.5 internal bypass shocks that came off my 4runner. They work great but are definitely too soft, I’ll need to upgrade from a 600lb spring to a 700lb spring in the front.
The GX is finally coming along. Sitting on proper suspension with Total Chaos suspension Upper and lower control arms, rear links, and 2.5" Fox Factory Race Internal Bypass shocks, plus Forged NYTOP ADV Classics wrapped in 34" Nitto Ridge Grapplers.
Really had a vision for this GX, and it's turning out exactly how I imagined. An OEM+ rally-inspired build that can handle just about anything.
The GX460 is coming together. Shocks from my 4runner bolted up no problem with the Fox Factory Race internal bypasses. Just had to modify the resi mount.
Total Chaos upper and lower control arms. Rear links with Dr. KDSS B.O.T.C.K - Bolt On TrackBar Correction Kit. And KDSS correction kits as well as Perry Parts Bump Stops.
I did NYTOP forged ADV classic wheels with Nitto Ridge Grapplers
NYTOP Forged ADV Classic wrapped in Nitto 285/75/17
Total Chaos Upper and lower control arms, Fox Factory Race internal bypass shocks
Dr. KDSS Bolt On Track Bar bracket and Total Chaos rear links.
I currently have an 3” OME spring I want to go down to a 2.5”
Very excited about how my GX460 is turning out. It’s pretty much ready for a Baja trip!
I have looked high and low for seat covers for my GX460. I have a cattle dog, and I hate the terrible pet covers from Amazon. I bought these from HKZ Auto they were around $270. So far so good. I installed them last night. They may need some adjustments while they sit in the sun. I will report back in a few months once they are broken in. And yes, both the heated seats and cooled seats work just fine with these.
Love how this Canon R5MKII has held up over the past few photoshoots, especially when switching from Sony; the Canon has held up in dusty environments way better. Usually, compressed air has helped a ton. I shoot primarily automotive off-road action as the media manager for Baja Designs. So we are constantly in the dusty desert. The camera has held up as well as the 1DX I used to have. So is the R5MKII hold up in the dust? yes. Can I probably take more precautions in the harsh environments? Yes.
Shooting automotive off-road photography might be the hardest thing for camera equipment. The camera will be fine, just needs to get serviced by CPS. Just a reminder that these are tools for our craft.
