So, I've always been into the trading/smuggling aspect of this game, and I know it's a huge thrill raiding fleets, and smuggling illegal contraband...

But as of late, I am very much enjoying honest trading of economy goods. It offers the same thrill as piracy (unit numbers going up) without the risk of death, which is great if you suck at space combat.

I would like to paraphrase the Nord merchant from Skyrim, at the Thalamor Embassy:

"Not all Travelers care about exploration and discovery. Some are gifted with the skill of making money." 😄

Yesterday I was trying to do a mission for a pirate station, where I had to ambush a merchant convoy.

I've been playing for years, even done this kind of mission so many times..... But for some reason I could not get this done. There were 4 ships, at least two of them were Solar... As soon as I'd get one of their shields down, they bang a super sharp turn, and by the time I catch up, their shield is back. I was trying to destroy those 4 ships for almost 10 minutes before I abandoned the mission.

Here's my loadout, sorry if I don't know the super specifics:

Ship: B class Sentinel Fighter
Weapons: phase beam, infra knife, rocket launcher (all with B and A class upgrades)
Game settings: Enemies weak, space combat standard.

This is obviously a skill issue but I am frustrated, I never had to abandon a mission like that before...

I have Proton VPN and if i keep it set to Sydney Australia, i don't get in game ads. There was one game, an idle brick breaker (can't remember the name) would actually say "ad not available. Giving rewards immediately" and i would get the gems, keys, etc.

If you're in a different country than me, it might work differently. But it's worth a shot.

Currently enjoying Game Is Hard, where people are complaining about ads to high heaven. No ads for me. 😊

Edit: i am aware of the other methods like DNS tinkering, however I have been subscribed to the VPN for some time, but only recently discovered this particular use for it. Do what works for you 😁

Plus i tend to run into clipping issues sometimes when the corvette is on the ground.

I have an iPhone 16 Plus and the PS5 backbone controller, which has a jack for 3.5 mm headphones. I was hoping to use this to record myself playing retro games while doing commentary.

At first i recorded using the iphone screen recording tool, however the volume of the game was so loud that i could not hear myself. I spent over an hour looking for a setting to fix it.

Then i tried using the retroarch video recorder itself, but the volume issue persists. Lowering my phone volume, nor the master volume in retroarch, fixes it. On the playback the game sound is on blast.

I want to do it this way because i can't afford studio equipment, and i want to get a tiny presence online, mostly for fun at this point.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I always listen to my whole library on shuffle, so having those two tracks cut in and out really annoyed me.

I found out that Audacity is still a thing, so I used it to merge the two tracks, then zoomed way in and chopped off the flat bit.

I renamed the merged track "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (ft. Billy Shears)" 😄

I happened upon a pack that contains both DOS and Windows games. Is it possible to run the latter on Smart Pro with Mustard OS?

I once read that it was impossible, then a few years later someone said you could "install windows first"... not sure if that's right..
