Hey gang, I’m new here!
What has really pushed me towards dumbphones is the rise of ai and constant surveillance in the name of advertising. That combined with constant scrolling and fidgeting with my phone, I think it’s time for a change.
I was going to just go the degoogled route but when I thought about it, what I use my phone the most for (other than scrolling) is streaming music but I would like to get a dedicated mp3 player to leave behind streaming apps too.
After doing a little research I am leaning toward the mudita kompact. What I really need the phone to do is
•texts
•calls
•navigation
•notes
An alarm would be nice but not necessary
And I saw you can sideload a few apps so maybe a music player.
I haven’t seen anyone mention it but I know mudita runs on android so I am wondering if it is android auto compatible?
I also want to leave my carrier and switch to something like mint mobile for cheap service.
I guess my real question is
With all this in mind is the mudita the phone for me?
Is there a phone better suited to these few basic needs?
