Old college internship sketches drawn entirely in ballpoint pen

Uncovered some old drawings I did on the covers of bill books during my college internship. Drawn entirely with a single ballpoint pen from start to finish with almost zero errors. Looking at them now, there’s no way I could pull this off today with my shaky hands and premature presbyopia! This level of precision feels like a artifact from another life.

Saw this piece back in 2019 and it STILL blows my mind

This incredible artwork was created by Anna Steinbauer, an artist I deeply admire. The way she paints is so otherworldly it almost gives off AI vibes (and I mean that as the ultimate compliment to her human skill). I can guarantee you this isn't AI, though I first saw this piece back in 2019. I can replicate almost any art style or painting with a reference, but this? This is one piece I simply cannot recreate. Some human mastery is just untouchable.

Every night, a black cat visits my apartment and I ask her to deliver a message to the girl I love

Almost every night, a stray black cat finds her way to my doorstep. She’s soft and trusting, letting me stroke her head in the quiet dark. I have this lingering habit, whenever a black cat wanders into my life, I can't help but ask "Are you Luna? Tell Usagi I love her." 😄 Believe it or not, it's all true.

My drawing of Queen Beryl for my manga cover

I chose to draw her with a softer, more human lens. In my version of the story, Beryl isn't the purely evil tyrant we knew from Naoko Takeuchi’s original vision, she is a victim of her own fate. In her final moment, realizing she was nothing more than a pawn for Queen Metalia and in her final, tragic moment of clarity, she gives her life to protect Prince Endymion

I used to hate Chibiusa, but I finally get why Usagi loves her so much

This is easily one of the most adorable photos of Chibiusa. I’m really starting to understand why Usagi loves her so much, even if she can be an annoying brat at times.

To be honest, I didn't like her when I first watched the show, especially during SuperS. But looking back, she’s really just a kid (physically, at least), and honestly how did any of us behave at that age? Not to mention everything she’s been through: losing her home, feeling alone, and traveling back in time all by herself just to save her mother. My heart really goes out to her for that.

While I still think SuperS suffered a bit because of how heavily it focused on her, I can't blame the character for bad writing. I guess I owe her an apology.

Sorry, Chibiusa...and I'm sure Usagi would back me up on this. I'll make sure to include you in my manga (if I ever actually finish it), on one condition: be nice to your mom!

A tribute to the clumsy, kindhearted crybaby who inspired me to start drawing

I couldn’t sleep, so I ended up pouring my heart into the concept for this poster.

Some people might find it unusual to see someone draw themselves alongside Usagi since she is a fictional character, but to me, this connection is incredibly pure. I first discovered her on TV when I was under ten years old, and I instantly fell in love with her clumsy, crybaby, yet utterly kindhearted personality. As the years passed, I grew up, graduated from college, and transitioned into adulthood. Yet no matter how much time went by seeing her pop up on TV, in manga, or on social media my feelings never faded. She remained the same Usagi I always cared for: a gentle, clumsy soul who always brought light into my world.

My love for her has never been about anything physical or sexual. In fact, it breaks my heart whenever I see hyper-sexualized, AI-generated images of her online; I could never look at her that way. I love her purely for who she is on the inside.

Drawing myself by her side is simply my way of interacting with a character who has been a constant comfort throughout my life. We all grow old, and none of us know how much time we truly have left whether it's decades, years, or months. I just want to be close to the character who brought me so much joy. Through artwork, we can stay together, beautifully captured in time, even when I’m gone.

A Heartwarming Glitch in the Matrix

Today, I went back to the shopping mall my dad used to bring me to when I was a kid. I vividly remember throwing a massive, "Sailor Moon Crybaby Style" temper tantrum right here until he finally gave in and bought me this soundtrack at the CD shop.

That shop is long gone now, replaced by a boutique. But years ago, I converted the entire CD into MP3s and saved them on my phone, alongside my other favorite anime soundtracks.

Today, as I was walking through the mall listening to music, that exact Sailor Moon soundtrack started playing at the exact spot where the CD shop used to be. It instantly flooded me with childhood memories. It felt like a voice whispering, "Hey, remember us?"

It was strange, but deeply heartwarming. Looking at the CD now, the cover has a bit of sun damage, and I wish I had taken better care of it... but the memories inside are still completely untouched.

Someone using my concept art and selling it

I made this drawing last year and recently came across a post with a similar concept (no shade to the OP, she just bought it). Apparently, someone in New York is selling the drawing or a printout of it. I'm not angry or anything, in fact, I'm kind of happy for someone who like my work. I took the concept from The Beatles, and they took the concept from me. In Japan, we'd consider this 'fair use,' but I do feel a bit uncomfortable with someone else using it to make money

My drawing for Usagi's birthday

My drawing for Usagi's birthday is finally complete! I was rushing to finish it in time for her birthday. It's concept art for a Nokia ad (two people in two different worlds with two different timelines, and yet we're still connected). I even have a storyboard for the ad, but I didn't have the time to draw the whole thing.

The ad starts with me calling her using a smartphone, wondering if anyone will pick up the phone on the other side...

Usagi: Hello... um, who is it?

JeVinci: It's... it's me.

Usagi: JeVinci? I thought you went back to the world you belong to. H-how did you...

JeVinci: No matter how many years stand between us, I'm always just a call away. Happy Birthday, Usagi-chan. But sadly, I couldn't bring you a birthday gift like I used to.

Usagi: Y-you already did. This is the most precious birthday gift I've ever received. Thank you, JeVinci. I...

JeVinci: I know... and I love you too.

The ad ends with a message:

Some connections transcend time. No matter the year, we are always just one signal away with an eternal moment held together by a voice.

NOKIA: Connecting People

This is the concept ad for Nokia I created for Usagi's birthday. This project is my little tribute to Sailor Moon on her birthday. Just like that classic Nokia slogan emphasizes, my feelings for Sailor Moon remain timeless.

Happy Birthday, Usagi!

A special Father's Day drawing

A special Father's Day drawing of our family with me, Usagi and our daughter Tsukimi. I almost never draw myself smiling, so this one is pretty rare. I love you, Usagi~chan. I really do. 🙂 Happy Father's Day!

That's exactly how it feels seeing my real drawings compared to people posting AI just to get likes. True story btw, I was the one who drew that Sailor Moon lol.

Found another old drawing of mine. I remember pausing the TV for an hour to draw this. Time flies, but the memories remain.
