🚨 Urgent plant help for jungle mint
I got this Monstera Jungle Mint on 18 September.
The plant had some root rot.
I removed the damaged roots and repotted it.
I also applied SAAF fungicide to the remaining roots.
After 5 days, I checked the roots again.
There was no new root growth.
I removed the SAAF from the roots.
I repotted the plant in an unglazed clay pot.
I used a very chunky mix of soil, brick chunks, charcoal, pumice, perlite, and coco husk.
After about 7 days, the brown areas on the leaf continued to increase.
The first photo was taken on 3 October.
The second photo was taken today.
Before this, I kept the plant outdoors. The temperature was around 33°C, with some harsh afternoon sun. I moved it indoors to an east-facing window because I was concerned about heat and sun stress.
Today, I noticed that the brown area on the largest leaf was still getting bigger.
I decided to check the roots again.
The plant had been in the unglazed clay pot for about 9 days. There was still no new root growth.
The roots felt very cold and dehydrated.
The plant was indoors on an east-facing windowsill, and the AC was running in the room. I think the low temperature and dry air from the AC may have affected the roots.
I have now repotted the plant again in a transparent pot.
I have placed it outdoors in bright indirect light.
What should I do now?
Is the plant still suffering from root rot?
Could the increasing brown areas have another cause?
Are the roots dehydrated rather than rotting?
Should I leave the plant alone now, or should I take further action?
What is the best way to encourage new root growth and save the plant?
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with a Monstera recovering from root rot.
