I’m so Frustrated!

My mom (79) can’t hear and refuses to get a hearing aid. Our conversations are beyond frustrating resulting in me raising my voice and her getting frustrated. Her husband says nothing about it - at least when I’m around but I’m pretty sure not even when they are alone.

But unfortunately I don’t see him doing anything about it. It’s the same thing with them. She can’t hear and ultimately he raises his voice and she gets angry.

The other day I begged her again to get a hearing aid and she said I should just be glad she’s alive. Unfortunately her husband won’t have the hard conversations with her, and she’ll only listen to him. But nope it’s all on me.

The most infuriating thing here is that if he told her to get a hearing aid she’d do it immediately. He is the only person she listens to and he could fix this immediately.

Edited: Removed “worthless pu$@y” lol because that was my anger showing. He just refuses to have any hard conversations.

Edit 2: I brought down the heat a lot lol because I was very angry when I posted this originally. Sorry if I was offensive, and for my use of some not so nice words. 😳🫢 🤦‍♀️. This has been going on for two years and I was at my breaking point.

I’ve shared some of the ideas you guys provided with him via text and asked him if he’d be willing to discuss them with her.

Someone mentioned medical fatigue and every light bulb went off. I hadn’t heard the term before but it is absolutely what is happening. She has been through a tremendous amount physically. Thank you for your comment because it helped me understand her much more. 🩷

I stand corrected

I posted a few weeks ago about a dirty house and how to deal with it. But nothing prepared me for my next job. Lol hi Karma.

My favorite clients referred me to their daughter and son-in-law and I was super excited. They didn’t ask for an interview and neither did I, I guess because nobody thought it was necessary. When I showed up for the job I was shocked by how filthy the house was. They were not at home when I arrived because of the last-minute nature of their trip.

Just dirty. Walls almost black with dirt. All surfaces also very dirty. The fridge and stove so filthy I wouldn’t use them on a dare. The bathroom truck-stop worthy: literal shit still in the toilet, dirty toilet, the cabinets falling off the walls. They told me this was the only bathroom I could use as the was in their room that they had locked me out of. But the shower didn’t have a door or shower curtain, and it was of course filthy.

My only option for sleeping was their nasty couch that I’m almost positive had c*m stains throughout.

Not only was the house horrible but the animals were out of control. They had a 6-month old puppy with almost no training and 2 older dogs (also 3 cats). I had to clean up shit and pee multiple times per day, despite the fact that they had full access to outside through a doggy door. The puppy (big breed) was so out of control that I’m covered in bruises.

I gave them an insane discount despite the fact that they had 5 animals.

Here’s my question: I absolutely want to retain the relationship with their parents. But I never want to sit for their daughter and husband again. I decided the next time they asked I would say I was already booked. But then I started getting paranoid about the dishonesty.

PS I cleaned the parts of the house I had access to because there was no way I could be there otherwise. So then the paranoia came up again - I hope they aren’t offended?

How have you addressed this in the past?

Edit: The interview seemed unnecessary because of who her mom is (yes big mistake and lesson learned) AND it was extremely last minute. Also, they were gone before I arrived and I couldn’t exactly leave at that point.

Second edit: I sent a follow-up text making sure everything was ok when they got home.
She didn’t even mention I’d cleaned her house. I’m thinking she didn’t even realize that it was really dirty by normal standards. No

Please remember there is a human at the other end. Please practice kindness

Please practice kindness. I know it’s easy to forget that there is a real human behind the closet. I recently made a mistake and sent a buyer the wrong item. I sent a $60 item instead of the $25 item they paid for. Regardless of the retail cost, I still made a mistake and I own it.

But the buyer didn’t contact me and tell me I had made a mistake. She immediately filed a claim and won (as she should have), but in her comments to Posh support she said “I don’t even know what this is but it’s going straight in the trash.” What it was a beautiful 4- strand vintage rhinestone necklace that I would very much like back. But I never heard from Poshmark regarding the claim. I offered her the correct item for 60% off with free shipping but she declined.

I work very hard to make sure my buyers have an amazing experience and I take every mistake very seriously. But I’m human, and sometimes I make mistakes.

Am I wrong in just hoping for some human to human kindness when an issue arises? If she had given me the opportunity to make it better I would have (and still would) do everything in my power.

AI App - Curious how buyers feel about AI photos

I only sell jewelry on Poshmark and I have been thinking about using an AI app for one picture in the posting. The other 4-5 pictures are not AI.

As a buyer, would that put you off? I rarely purchase on Poshmark so I have no clue how much of it’s out there and/or has it become obnoxious? Or is one picture out of multiples reasonable?

Thanks for any insight!

Dirty house?

I have a rule that I always leave no trace, or leave the house better than I found it (when I stay in someone’s home). But what about when the house is borderline dirty when I get there?

I will clean toilets regardless because I used them. But what about gross kitchen counters, dirty kitchen cabinets, etc?

Daniel and Marissa Episode 8

I feel like I just watched Marissa tell her cute, but exuberant and excitable foster puppy, why he’s getting returned to sender. The utter audacity of this woman and how she treats him…It’s hard to watch.

I’m just going to say it.

I’m bored. And I can’t find empathy for any of the characters. I never thought I’d say that, but here we are.

Just give me one character that I can root for like FezCo. Where is Rue? Why is her character so one-dimensional now? Where is Jules? It’s like they put a couple of place holders in so that maybe they can later come back and actually write a story for them.

Cassie & Nate? You could have made them at least a little bit human. Again it feels like here’s some gratuitous violence to keep us engaged but no real story to get into.

Or maybe I’ve aged out of Euphoria?
I’ve been waiting for this season forever! So bummed out, I wanted to love it.
