6AM–4:20PM Singapore Layover Suggestions

Hi everyone!

I have a layover in Singapore and I’ll be free from around 6AM to 1PM before heading back to Changi Airport for my 4:20PM flight (planning to return early just to be safe).

Would appreciate suggestions for:

  • must-visit spots for a short layover
  • good food places
  • hidden gems
  • places that are actually realistic to do within a few hours

Also, if possible, could you include the fastest MRT route to get there from Changi Airport (what stations/lines to take)?

Another question — is there a place in Terminal 1 where I can leave my hand-carry luggage/backpack and how much does it usually cost?

Would also appreciate any advice regarding:

  • immigration timing in the morning
  • how early I should return to the airport
  • whether MRT or Grab is better during those hours

Thanks a lot!

Thoughts on this Indonesia strateg: MariBank for swiping vs GoTyme for Grab/Food Delivery/General Online Transactions?

Hey guys! I’m heading to Indonesia soon and I’m trying to figure out the best card strategy to minimize fees.

I’m thinking of doing a "combo" approach, what do you guys think?

  1. For Physical Swiping (Malls, Alfamart, Cafes): MariBank Since MariBank is still 0% forex fee for physical in-store swipes, I’m planning to use this for everything I can tap or dip at the terminal. GoTyme is at 1%, so Mari is the clear winner here, right?
  2. For Apps (Grab, Gojek, & Food Delivery): GoTyme This is where it gets tricky. I realized that even if you're physically in Indo, card payments on Grab, Gojek, or ShopeeFood count as online/e-commerce transactions.

Since MariBank now charges 2% for international online/cross-border fees, wouldn't it be better to use GoTyme instead? From what I’ve read, GoTyme keeps it at a flat 1% even for online payments, so I’d save 1% on every ride and meal delivery.

TL;DR:

  • Physical swipes/ATMs: MariBank (0%)
  • Ride-hailing & Food apps: GoTyme (1% vs Mari's 2%)

Does this math check out? Or am I missing some hidden fees for Indonesia? Also, if anyone has tried GCash Visa or Maya for Grab/Gojek recently, is the rate any better than GoTyme’s 1%?

Thank you so much!

If you’ve been looking for a solid IPTV provider in Europe, you probably already know how hit-or-miss it can be. One day it works fine, next day you’re stuck buffering right when a match starts. Or channels just randomly go down and support is nowhere to be found.

I’ve tried a bunch over time, and honestly most of them look good on paper but fall apart when you actually use them daily. Recently though, I came across Sofa4K and it’s one of the few that actually feels stable long-term, not just during the first few days.

The main thing that stood out is consistency. Streams don’t just randomly freeze every few minutes, and during peak hours (like evenings or big football matches), it still holds up pretty well. That’s usually where other IPTV services struggle the most.

Channel-wise, it’s got pretty much everything you’d expect. A lot of European channels—UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain—and a decent amount of international stuff too. Sports coverage is solid, which was important for me, and there’s also VOD content if you’re into movies or series.

Quality is actually legit as well. Not one of those “4K” claims where it’s barely HD. If your internet can handle it, streams are clear and smooth. Of course, your connection still matters, but the service itself isn’t the bottleneck most of the time.

Another thing I noticed is it works across basically any device. I’ve used it on a Firestick and my phone without issues, and setup wasn’t complicated. If you’ve used IPTV before, you’ll figure it out quickly.

Support is also decent, which is rare in this space. They actually respond and help instead of just ignoring messages after payment.

Price-wise, it’s not the cheapest option out there, but at this point I’d rather pay a bit more for something that actually works consistently instead of hopping between broken services.

Not saying it’s perfect—no IPTV really is—but compared to most of what’s out there, it’s a lot more reliable. If stability is your main concern, it’s definitely one to look into.
