Still kind of trying to sus out their role, but one thing that is interesting to me is nobody has 'good' MXBs. By which I mean no civ that get's them, and there are quite a few, really has a buffed version.

The Danes and Saxons get the generic FU version, while the Varangians get FU +10 HP version, which is a very mild buff.

All the others are not FU.

Which got me thinking, nearly every other unit or regional substitute unit has a least one civ with a buffed or spicy version. Arbs, Halbs, Champs, Skirms, Knights, Camels, Eagles, Champis, basically every line has at least one civ with a significant buff or cost reduction.

Are the devs just trying to feel out hoe effective the unit is before seeing any 'MXB civs', or is the intent they'll always be a situational unit that no civ will specialize in?

It's ya boy Jimothy with the coach poll results. Firstly, apologies for not getting this out sooner. Work has been a bitch the last week or so and frankly all the worse for the gleeful Port fans I faced at my team meeting on Monday. I'm sure my MSTeams rendition of "You'll Never Tear Up Our Tarps" was painful for some, but cathartic for me.

In the roll-up, it seems ~69% would decide to keep Nicks next year, though some have caveats with that.

With us now having lost the semifinal, it seems ~31% want him gone, again with some caveats.

When comparing the results of the two questions I think you get an interesting answer that mirrors my own thoughts: Nicks deserves to be there next year, but the jury is out on if he has what it takes to win a flag.

I've kept the analysis pretty brief here for two reasons; I'd rather foster discussion than dribble on about what I think and...

...actually I love to dribble on and I'm putting together a long form post on where I see us losing critical games and why. I've long pissed and moaned about this sub sometimes offering up roughly two words of actual analysis (they rhyme with "dicks out") but I thought you know, be the change you want to see in the world so I'll hopefully have it finished this week and will post then.

I'm a largely bedroom (it's an office I swear, I'm an adult!) player with faaaar too many guitar pedals and I'm trying to justify it by final making a bit more progress with recording.

I currently run my amp into a focusrite and have been recording some riffs and idea in Audacity. I've got Reaper too but I'm more familiar with Audacity.

I've been looking a bit at drum machines like the Alesis Sr16 but I would love some more general advice.

I'd really like something that let's me play (finger drums on pads or buttons) along to guitar and bass stuff I've recorded or got looping through my pedals. Not for studio quality recording, but to just workshop drum ideas.

Ideally then end product I'm looking for is to be able to take a riff idea and lay record a few bars of it with some bass and drum ideas to send to band mates.

I play PUBG most days, I have ~7000 hours in the game, would consider myself a good player - have played low level competitive.

Since moving to the SEA server (forced, from OCE) I've certainly seen a higher quality of player but also a LOT more cheaters, particularly in more casual modes like TPP duo.

Previously I would say for every 10 reports I make I might see 2-3 temp bans and for every 10 temp bans you might see 1 or 2 progress to perma bans.

I have not seen a ban of any kind for 3 months. Probably 100-200 reports minimum. Not a single ban. And I've seen some insanely obvious cheaters in that time.
