Hi everyone, sorry for botherin yall im just curious as to what might be causing a performance loss after installing more ram in my laptop.

I had 16 GB of DDR4 3200MTs 22 CL (2x8) and bought a 32GB stick ( 3200MTs CL22). I took one of the 8gb sticks and installed the 32gb one, so now I had 40gb. After using my laptop for a few days i noticed the overall experience was kinda laggy at times, and it felt like it took longer to boot up, I also noticed that my avg fps decreased in games like fortnite, where previously I was getting 144hz easily, now it struggled to maintain 100fps (80-95 most of the time).

Now, my laptop's manufacturer's official site says the model I have only supports up to 32GB installed, so I took the 8gb stick off and left only the 32GB and the overall system experience was the pretty much the same, fps were a little better tho now i was getting 100-110.

Finally I tested the 16gb again (2x8) and everythin went back to normal. Im genuinely not making this up lol i swear, im just curious about what might be causing this, if i did somethin wrong or the stick is the one at fault here

I feel like i know what to do but i wanted to ask just to make sure lol

So I will list the things I did up to this moment:

1. Read and Followed the "3ds hacks guide" and modded the console without a single problem.
2. Read and Followed the "Finalizing setup" section all the way thru up to [Section IV "setup script"].

2.5. I followed the steps there and in step 11 when i copied my sysnand files from the backup folder to my pc and deleted them from the sd card one new file with a weird name appeared, i tried to delete it but it didn't let me so i just ejected the sd and put it back in the console, then when i turned it on a message saying it couldn't detect the sd appeared. I put it back in my pc and it doesnt recognize it either and asks me to format it.

When i pressed select+power button on the console the luma config menu shows up so I guess its still modded. Do i just format it again, copy the files from the luma zip to the root of the sd card and follow the "finalizing setup" section again or am i cooked?
