Ive played several of the human factions being slow and meticulous with defensive growth with settlements and building up overtime and only moving on when things are defensively sound.

Chaos it seems like you can just take the big fortresses and raise everything else to the ground. If I play this way will it hurt me later with the chaos currency? Playing as Archaon by the way. Should I play like everyone else and max occupy and vassal settlements.
