My coach recently asked me to start coaching. I’ve been training for 3 years. I’m continuing to train but I’ll coach one class per week. I recently coached my first few classes. Most people in attendance are beginners. Some are intermediate. My coach has such a depth of knowledge. But I feel like I’m 1-2 questions away from complete ignorance. I am excited for the challenge and excited to learn how to coach as I continue to learn and improve. But I also feel like a fraud. Is this a common feeling for new coaches? How do you overcome this?

I am an entrepreneur. I run a non-profit which I started and currently pays me about 68k annually. I also own a for profit sole proprietor LLC which paid be about 33k in 2025. 2025 was the first year I’ve ever grossed over 100k. Both enterprises were established in 2021.

We are a single income household with 4 kids ages 8-14. Both of my enterprises need to grow. The for profit business is probably the most straight forward one to grow and gain more income more quickly.

We live in a major urban area. We own a home. Other than our primary mortgage and HELOC, we have no debt. Between those two, the balance is around $200,000.00 with the majority of that being at a 3.5 interest rate. Our monthly mortgage plus HELOC payment is about $1700.

Other than that our fixed expenses are small. But I still feel like 100k is barely making it. We have very little ability to save and invest money - though I am trying. Every time I get a big paycheck from the business, we have a big expense that needs handled 🙂. In the end, not much is left to build savings or wealth.

My primary goal is to grow both endeavors, but mainly grow the for profit business in the short term. I really think I need to be making around $120-$150k.

Is this primary goal the key to success or am I missing something big?
