Any horror fans wanna see “Other Mommy” next weekend?

I’m a horror movie guy. I love the genre, I read, watch and draw it when I can, but I haven’t watched a movie with someone in a hot minute. The last film I saw by myself was the spectacularly made “resident evil”. Heck, I’m watching a horror film rn. Anyway, it’d be nice to go out with someone casually and watch that film.

About me: located in Oakville, Caribbean, 5’9”, and pretty chill. I workout, I’m in pretty good shape, and I’m busy most weekdays.

If this aligns with you, and you’re down, then let’s gooooooo!

(On a side note, I’d be down for a small group viewing if anyone wanna make movie viewing friends, either or is alright by me )

Advice on backgrounds

First time poster, long time lurker. I’m an aspiring comic artist who used to make comics from childhood to adult. I stopped for what would be 16 years now. The last comic I made was a zine for my illustration class, last year, and that sparked the love I used to have for the medium.

However, one thing I never did growing up was backgrounds. I’m working on a sonic the hedgehog fan comic, which I will post here when I have more material, and I’m stuck in storyboard hell…all because I don’t know how to draw a background scene. How do some of you guys approach backgrounds during the planning stages? Do you do extensive research, or wing it?

$2000 deposit fee for international students?

I'm not seeing much posts about this here on reddit, so I'm assuming a lot of folks aren't aware or they believe they're just paying $250. So today I paid a visit to both admissions and the hub and was disgustingly shocked from $250 to $2000 deposit fee for international students returning in the fall. Not only was this a gross inflation of the fee, but they've pushed the registration dates back for the end of this July.

I want to do something about this. There has to be someone or a body I can email to kindly ask for answers as to why this has happened?

Has anyone reached out the school as yet?

Guys who took a break from dating, what happened?

I know most of us here are pretty much fed up with OLD, and some of us are a bit burnt out with dating, period. But for the dudes out there who have taken a break from dating, why? And what are some things about dating, as a man, that women don’t quite understand?

Also, bonus question if you want to answer, what would make dating a lot easier for you?

Where are all the single women at?

‘Cause I would like to know!

Like many of you men here, I, too, have poor luck with online dating. The algorithm gods curse me to obtain no matches with folks I would like to match with, and when I am blessed with a match they’re usually people I do not find attractive at all. And yeah, yeah, *lower your standards*, I suppose. Well, you wanna know what? I did that already and the experience sucked. It was a lame. So lame I shan’t recount.

But I have been taking the internet’s trusted advice and have touched so much grass I think I, one with mature, now. Sadly, that doesn’t mean I get to meet anyone.

This could be a consequence of putting more skill points into intelligence instead of luck but lately I have been meeting women in person. Hold up, that’s not lucky because women outnumber men. Anyway, these women, they’re wonderful people full of humour, interesting hobbies and unique points of view that I make for an interesting encounter. What oftentimes is the case is that we talk and exchange ideas, but then I discover that we have things in common, and while it’s often a decent experience, there’s always this one little complaint I have: they’re always partnered up.

Doesn’t matter where I meet them; it could a park, a class, a cafe, a decent conversation on a train, by an event, you name it, and before I can ask, “would you like to grab a coffee sometime?”, in comes the dreaded line, “so my partner and I….”

What a bummer.

Usually I take a moment to feel the disappointment but then I continue on with my day and welcome the fact that at least I didn’t get hit with the “I have a **BOYFRIEND**!”, with the hard B (especially as a first contact statement).

Again, they’re lovely people, and I’d like to believe that the partners they’ve chosen are good to them in lol the way it counts. But it does leave me feeling a bit bummed out because it would be nice to meet someone who is unattached for once.

So, while my rant of woe-is-me has come to a close, i reiterate my topic question: single women, where do you guys even be? How can single men meet y’all? Are y’all wearing camouflage in the wild? Do we single men need to develop a mating call? Do a little dance? Whatever we gotta do, ya gotta tell me, cause I can’t keep meeting attached women like this! I’m dying here!

Hey there,

So, I'm an Illustration Student at Sheridan, but I signed p for NMA 4 years ago, and while the courses were well structured, the overwhelming feeling of not knowing what to do got to me, so I quit. However, as of late I re-applied (resumed my subscription) because I want to learn alongside my education. This is a huge task, but I feel the need to fill the gaps in my education that school hasn't covered. My question is, for those of you who have used NMA and attended school, how did you balance NMA with your RL classes?
