Today's perch visitor- teneral or very new Whiteface or Autumn Meadowhawk female?

Hmm she does have a very light silver/gold face and inky black legs so l am leaning Whiteface but they are so similar sometimes.

Serious question about completely missing blue dashers for the odonatologists !

This year was a slow start simply due to cooler rainy days extending into summer, but we are finally getting to full cast now, except for one species ! Not a single blue dasher spotted this season yet. Not even one. Copious amounts last year with ovipositors but nary a single one has shown up this season, yet. We did have a very cold winter. The Autumn Meadowhawks aren't really due yet so no worries about them, but every single expected species has shown up except the Blue Dashers, but those little guys are nowhere. Any ideas????
