ARRT seeking feedback on proposed changes to MRI Examination Content Specifications and Clinical Requirements

"The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is looking for help from working professionals in (MRI). We encourage you to review the proposed changes to the MRI Examination Content Specifications and Clinical Requirements.

Our goal is to produce comprehensive, accurate, and fair documents that cover the knowledge and cognitive skills required of MRI technologists. ARRT’s examinations are job-related. That is, we only include topics if that knowledge relates directly to a clinical activity typically required for an MRI technologist. In May 2026, a survey of possible tasks and procedures was sent to 4,000 current MRI technologists to determine these topics. Results from these surveys were used to update the content specifications and clinical requirements.

The ARRT MRI Practice Analysis Committee (composed of subject matter experts from throughout the United States) began working on these documents in April 2026 and will complete work on them this fall. After that, ARRT’s Board of Trustees will review the proposed changes. The new MRI documents have a scheduled implementation date of February 1, 2028."

Weekly Career/Education/Basic Patient Questions Thread

Welcome to r/mri's weekly career/education/basic questions thread. In an attempt to keep this subreddit more focused on being a resource for technologists, radiologists, physicists, researchers etc already in the field, this thread is the place for:

* questions about ARRT vs ARMRIT (US only)

* questions about schools like Pulse Radiology, Gurnick, etc

* simple questions about the job/career experiences/educational process/clinicals (dress code, shifts, etc)

* what it's like being an mri tech

* questions from patients about what to expect about their MRI exam process

Standalone threads posted on these and related topics will be removed and directed here. Questions asking for medical advice will be removed and the user will be banned as usual.

Winter range for extended range GT? (northeast US)

Hello friends,

I already have a 2025 GT extended range AWD and live in Maryland. I have been getting about 300-310 miles at 100% so far this summer. My current commute is highway driving for 90 miles round trip and my efficiency is usually 3.7-3.9 mi/kwh.

I am considering work contracts about 200 miles away from home (into PA) that would span some winter months. I generally don't go above 70-75 on highways since switching from ICE to EV. Most of the posts and comments I saw when I searched the sub about this were for premium trim with extended range, though I did find one GT comment saying they got about 210 miles at 100% charge in the winter. Ideally if I were to take a work contract 150-200 miles away, I'd like to make that trek on one charge.

What has been your winter range experience, GT owners?

Dozens injured, officials call for 'mass casualty incident' in bus crash

Edit: casualty in this context luckily only means injuries and not deaths.

Saw the chopper and heard sirens but figured it was 695 related. What a horrible accident! "Reisterstown Road is closed in both directions between Old Court Road and Sudbrook Lane" per the article.

Wiki update: Gym anxiety and a brief mod note

Hi all,

We've gotten some feedback in modmail about allowing standalone posts for managing gym anxiety. Just this week, there have been several posts related to gym anxiety that could foster good discussion, but were submitted by bots, are AI written spam, or those fake questions posted by people doing market research for yet another garbage app. We do not want to encourage those types of accounts to post here and do our best to ban and report them to reddit quickly.

We are also considering something like other subreddits do - "recovered threads", where engaging posts that are removed (they're posted by bots, break the rules in other ways, are posted by people evading previous bans etc), or deleted by OP are reposted for discussion and engagement by real humans.

In the meantime, we can use a wiki refresh over this topic! Please drop your best advice, tips, tricks, and wisdom on overcoming gym anxiety and related topics below.

Congested highway hack for efficiency - unbridled mode?

Obligatory "so glad I'm in an EV so I don't have to fill up every 2-3 days for this hellish commute" comment. I have had my '25 GT (eruption green gang rise up) for 2 months now and I had initially expected or planned for an extended range Premium. I don't worry about climate control and regularly use my heated seats (even when it's 75+ out) for the record.

What should be only 50-60 min of driving frequently takes 90+ minutes due to rush hour and congestion where I live and currently work as a contractor (thanks, DMV area). I have been driving in unbridled mode most of the time these days since I enjoy the regen just from taking my foot off the accelerator. It also seems to be a really great way for me to efficiently handle the congested highways on my commute. I'll regularly be stuck for 20-30 min to go <10 miles at both the beginning and end of my commute home, and with unbridled I almost never have to actually use the brake pedal during those parts. Plus, once the roads clear up I get to vroom vroom to 65-75mph.

Just wanted to brag a little about the 3.9 I've been getting this week. Mornings are MUCH better for traffic and I'll still get 3.3-3.5!
