Looking outward has only 11 bits of processing power. Looking inward or meditation is the processing power of quantum computation

Say you are using your mind like in the state of "people watching." This use of your mind has only 11 bits of processing power. There is little room here, not a lot of space. It can be delightful to watch the colors and motion on the outside. But soon you will run into a wall. And after ten minutes or so you can get tired of looking outward.

In meditation, looking inward, we have this kind of quantum quality. More space and more time. Actually, space and time are exactly the same as existence in meditation. One with existence. This is how we understand the word "being", in the widest sense of the word.

Being is seamless. When we compare, contrast, judge our surroundings... This is when we feel our rough edges. Our rough edges and our seamless being make up our whole being. Both are necessary to function. Yet, we forget the meditation part or looking inward a lot of the time.

Before emptiness, your psychological state will burn hot

It is said at the end of a flames cycle it will burn the hottest. You can call your state by any psycho-medical terminology you want and however you manage this psychological "hot state" is up to you. But you will get your place in emptiness and conscious awareness gradually.

Find a meditative space, and allow your light and acceptance to fill the void.

If you've been around the Internet or turned on the news in the last 5 years... Rancorous Souls are those who fell from grace and have made apparent their state.

Only direct your light and acceptance into the void. Don't specify who is a Rancorous soul.

The Two Prong Approach To The Mind: Meditation and Psychological Awareness

The brain chemistry in psychology is just as significant as the appropriate use of the mind in meditation. We are fortunate to be exploring the way the brain behaves psychologically, neurologically, and biologically. We must consider this psychological process as the special function of the mind as much as we must consider meditation as the total function of the mind. To take this two prong approach gives us our full individuality of the mind, and allows us to be both aware and conscious along with having valid cognition.

How you teach your children meditation.

There's one or two ways good ways to go about teaching children meditation.

It is to give them a full scope of their being.

Mindfully tell them they have a heart, bones, lungs, breath, posture, muscles, thoughts, emotions, feelings, the 5 senses, what goes into their body makes a difference, their environment makes a difference etc.

This will inevitably give them a sense of awareness and responsibility for their faculties and increase their odds of handling a wild world better.

Priority work is all the work that you see most of us doing. It's the worldly work that keeps things going. And the inner work is the work that is the deep function that moves you at the most fundamental level. Sometimes our focus is strongly goal oriented to the priority work. Sometimes we need to take the backwards step and find out our true function with the inner work.

About the mind

One thing you might want to understand about the mind is that it is trying to do everything in its power to burn you in every which way.

If it cannot burn you on form, form being any disturbance in the field of pure awareness, it will try and burn you chemically, chemically meaning all the psychological stuff that can happen to a mind that is disturbing. If it cannot burn you chemically, it will try to burn you spiritually, spiritually meaning all the extremely subtle ways of creating a gap between you and things as they really are.

If you are not careful, it is in the small window of digression, that you rightfully deserve after a period of meditation, that the mind will try to burn you. And the mind will loop back into endless meditation and you'll never be able to reach the point of acting on insight. Which is the goal of most meditations.

Although, the mind or brain doesn't know it is doing this or is it doing it as a personal attack on you. The brain itself simply doesn't know. It's always just trying to create a projection. This is why they say "a mind without projection is meditation."

If you really, honestly want to help someone. Find 5 people on anxiety meds. Teach them your meditation. And free them from that anxiety. You're not saving the world Buddha. Help them cut that anxiety out of their life. That would be a great service for a meditator.

The Most Unattractive State You Could Be In Is Witnessing

The most attractive state you could be in is unconditional presence.

If you look at what witnessing is... It's ever-confused at what it sees. It's not minding its own business. It's hyper alert and not relaxed. It's self-imposing its filter on things as they really are. Witnesses always have completely different stories when seeing the same thing. Witnessing is all around a very unattractive state to be in. And a lot of people are walking witnesses.

Unconditional presence on the other hand is very sweet, non-interfering, available, open, and responsive. Letting all things be as they are. A very attractive state.

If you don't feel any kind of void and reactivity in your being your awareness will be rather shallow

When we understand the difference between meditation and stillness we understand that meditation is more of the attitude we take toward life and stillness is the necessity to carry us through the void and reactivity. Yet, without feeling some kind of void and reactivity in our being, awareness will have little significance besides only relying on our senses to tell us our story. But we know our senses don't tell us the whole story. We must also allow awareness to encompass the mystery and curiosity.

Your name is your virtue. One meaning of virtue is "Effective Force." All throughout our lives we associated our name with paying attention. Our parents, teachers, bosses and everyone in-between would say our name to call us to attention. I suggest you scrap that association with giving away your attention when you hear your name. Instead, when you hear your own name, associate it with "Effective Force." Work on it. Because it's a deep conditioning.
