Vent mode on

Hi fellow extroverts!

I often read posts everywhere analyzing the introverted world and how extroverts just can't understand it. We have that stereotype of adopting introverts, so I’m taking advantage of it—after a weekend spent at home that's driving me crazy—to complain about one thing:

How frustrating is it to be an extrovert surrounded mostly by introverts?

Our friend group used to have 11 people, so someone was always going out. But after a split, there are now mini-groups of introverts who just don't want to leave the house.

I know it's a need for them, so I’ve never interfered. But my own need for social recharging feels almost impossible to satisfy.

I’ve realized I get along better with introverts because they are very emotionally attuned and we always have deep conversations, but I need regular outings to feel good. I can't make a single outing per week be enough like they do.

I feel like I'm losing my mind when I'm alone; I don't feel happy or recharged.

I probably need to make new friends, which is usually pretty easy for me. But since it's August and everyone is on vacation, I just have to survive these next few days.

Maybe I'm being dramatic, but at least I'm demonstrating what happens to an extroverted brain without constant social interaction 🤣🤣

P.S. This only happened two days ago and I'm already like this.

A question about INFP social life: Myth vs. Reality

Hi fellow INFPs!! I always doubt whether I'm an ENFP or an INFP. What confuses me the most is the social life of INFPs, because they are often described as hermits and I really don't see myself in that at all!!

I love being around people, I think it's my top priority. However, being alone drains my energy, which always makes me lean towards ENFP, even though I have some more introverted traits (I don't have a stereotypically 'bubbly' attitude, I scan my surroundings before warming up, and every now and then I detach from the real world to get lost in my daydreaming or just 'zone out' from the conversation during long social events, even if I don't feel the need to go home).

But I'd love to hear your perspective, because maybe I'm the one with a mistaken view of introversion.

Does anyone else's Fi just slam the door when the vibe is off?

Hey fellow ENFPs, writing to you guys again!!!

I (27F) am super talkative and very ironic/sarcastic. However, when I don't like the group or I don't feel comfortable, I completely clam up.

I just can't help it. I literally can't squeeze a single word out!

It happened just yesterday—the moment the "disruptive" people left, I instantly felt better.

Does this happen to you guys too?

I assume it's our auxiliary Fi (Introverted Feeling) causing this, but please correct me if I'm wrong!

Practical tips for mood swings and racing thoughts?

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for some practical advice on how to emotionally regulate myself. My therapist told me that I experience these mood swings that completely overwhelm me, leading to a cortisol spike and racing thoughts that make me feel like I’m losing my mind.

I’m still trying to figure out how to catch the wave *before* it hits, so I can manage it without getting swept away.

I really need practical coping skills. I was hoping I could just get rid of the problem entirely, but my therapist says it probably won't go away, and that it’s something I just need to learn to manage.

Do you have any techniques to recommend? Ideally, I’m looking for things that don't involve writing or using external objects, because I need to be able to use them when I'm out in public.

Just a heads-up: deep breathing rarely works for me.

Thanks!

Is the ENFP social burnout hitting anyone else right now?

Hi ENFP friends!!

Very serious question: even though you love social stimulation, do you also just "disconnect" and feel exhausted at some point when you're around people?

It happened to me just this week. I had a mountain of social plans from Friday to Tuesday—all of them super long and with close friends—but at a certain point, I just checked out, and I've been staying at home from Wednesday to Friday.

Does this happen to all you beautiful ENFPs????
