Paint Kitchen Tile Backsplash?

Hi!

My husband and I are planning on selling our house in spring 2027 - hoping to list in March. We are doing some basic home touch ups (fresh paint, may refinish floors, etc), and our big question is our kitchen. The entire thing is outdated. I want to just repaint the cabinets, have the very ugly and peeling counter replaced and a new sink put in while we’re there… but the tile backsplash is where I’m torn. I don’t want to rip it out because we have plaster walls and it will result in us having to redo have the kitchen walls. I am tempted to just paint them a more neutral color scheme (currently they are baby blue, slate, cream, gray and black 🥴). Has anyone here painted tile in kitchen before and how did it go? Recommendations? Should we just leave it and let it drive down our potential listing price?

Thanks in advance!

Help me decide the order to read:

I’m trying to get through my BOTM TBR. These are the books that I’ve either picked or that I have found in various Free Little Libraries or book exchange shelves at work (there seems to be a lot of BOTM members that are also nurses in the ICUs). I am trying to alternate genres so I don’t get bored. Also if a book is a bit harder to get through I’d like to sandwich it between ones that I can fly through. I’m usually good for at least 100 pages a day. So, tell me, what order should I read these and why?

Thank you!!

We’re back in the game 😮‍💨

Officially back to trying! We had our son in April of 2025, he was conceived after 4/5mo of trying. As of this week we have officially tried for our first cycle. So much anxiety around doing this again - but I’m excited for the end product 😂

Here’s to #2 in 2027 🤞🏼

Make the Shrieking Stop

I will listen to ten million newborns cry if it means my 14mo old will *stop fcking shrieking.* I think this is my least favorite phase. I will go back to waking up 6x a night for hours if it means the shrieking will end. It is horrible. My watch is constantly alarming that the environment is too loud. My ears are constantly ringing. I have thrown away books and toys simply because they have caused him even mild frustration which resulting in shrieking. I never had to step away for a minute when he was a newborn… but I regularly step away multiple times daily to sit in silence while he shrieks downstairs.

Literally when does this fcking stop? Can I return him????

Redo lawn?

Hello!

I’m looking to have my lawn fixed. I’m talking filling holes, getting rid of really bad weeds (my neighbors have this plant they use to replace grass and it’s now spread to my yard), and putting down new grass.

But I also don’t want to break the bank.

Anyone have any recommendations for companies they used and loved? The sooner we can get the work done, the better :)

Thank you!
